Excellent resource
I love this book. I have incorporated many of these concepts into my cooking but this takes it to a next level. Also, these recipes taste better than some of the things I was trying on my own. They clearly perfected them. It also gave me some great ways to diversify my children's diets. I made my 4 year old extremely picky eater the pancakes this morning. Win! He loved them and said they were the best ever. Extra bonus... all THREE of my children and my husband enjoyed them as well. That's just magic right there. I'm still working my way through all of the recipes. But I'm so excited to keep trying them out and excitement really helps with cooking motivation! If you want to make your food as nutritious as possible without sacrificing the enjoyability of eating, this book is for you.

Avoid kindle version
This review is specifically for the kindle edition. The book itself is very well written and the concept of adding ‘boosts’ is very unique.However, the icons that are used to indicate what broth goes with what are unreadable and those icons are the crux of the entire book.I’d suggest going with the print version, unless they chose to re-edit.

User friendly resource
Reading Better Broths and Healing Tonics helped me feel much more hopeful about the daunting task of working toward better health. I am excited and motivated to begin to implement some significant changes into my diet and lifestyle with the help of this book. I fully appreciated reading the in depth background information as to why these lifestyle choices clearly make sense, but it was the detailed charts and recipes that present the information in such an accessible manner that really grabbed my attention. It is the “user friendly” presentation that delineates when and how and the why of what to choose that excited me. For so long, the concept of overhauling my diet to be healthier has felt overwhelming and to some degree, out of reach. The information presented here and the manner in which it is presented changed my perspective. The variety of recipes are sure to satisfy even the pickiest palates in my household and I’m excited to present sweet and savory broths that are chock full of nutrients and goodness. I have arranged my shopping list and I’m excited to begin a healthier journey with some seemingly simple first steps!
