Medical Grade Lanolin Skin and Lip Balm Green Label (Pack of 4)

I love this lip balm, it really deserves a review. I was having constant issues with my lips itching and getting very irritated, even though i only i used natural unscented lip balms with no fragrance, color. My dermatologist told me that a lot of natural ingredients in lip balm can irritate your lips, and that you can develop an allergy or sensitivity to an ingredient after using it without issues for years. She mentioned several things like citrus oils, peppermint, other flavors, but also things i didn't expect: honey, beeswax, even castor oil. I even tried plain shea butter but that was still causing me problems, and was too oily, didn't stay on.This lanolin lip balm is perfect for me, it doesn't irritate at all. Since i switched to this, i haven't had a single problem. And i have to apply this so much less than before! I used to feel like i was constantly putting on lip balm and my lips still felt dry, but now it's just a few times a day. I can even leave the house for a few hours without it (gasp!).I read the reviews about the blue ones being better, it actually made me think i should not order these green ones and wait for those! But I'm very glad i didn't. I think the wax is very necessary in this. It doesn't make it waxy at all, it's NOTHING like Chapstick. it's just enough to keep the lanolin from being a gooey mess. I use straight lanolin on my hands and feet sometimes, it's great but would be way too soft and sticky by itself to be in a tube.Also smells really bother me, i have a very annoyingly "good" sense of smell. This doesn't smell, i never notice it at all, which i love.I've been using these for over a year and I've never had it leave any kind of white cast or color on my lips. if you put on a lot, it can look glossy, I've had friends ask if i was wearing lip gloss. But normally instead of wiping it over my lips like a normal lip balm, i just dab a tiny amount on my lips in a couple places and then spread that around. You don't need a lot.I guess the only downsides are that it can be a little sticky, because lanolin is sticky, so if you put on too much you may notice that, but just try putting on less. And it will get a lot softer in your pocket than most lip balms. But those are minor things compared to having normal, healthy lips that are moisturized and not itchy/irritated!

The blue PURE lanolin version of this lip balm was exceptional - it was soft and melted easily, but that was perfect for extra dry lips. This version.... is not special in any way, and is indistinguishable from any drugstore chapstick. It's hard so it doesn't apply easily, and actually damages chapped lips. I'm pretty disappointed.

This product works great keeping my lips moist during the winter. Was using the chapstick brand before and even with application every 10min or so, my lips were painful and peeling. This completely resolved with the use of this product. That being said, it’s melting point seems a bit low so if you constantly keep chapstick in your pocket like me, when you apply it after it’s been warmed, it looks like you’re “foaming at the mouth” according to my mother and personally I’ve noticed a VERY obvious white discoloration. I keep using it cause I’d rather not be in pain than look cute (or even sane) but it might be of concern if that’s not your take.

I've used many different lip balms and chap sticks over the last 30 some years, and no matter the brand, the ingredients, or the protection advertised I have always had dry and peeling chapped lips. Even if I applied those products every hour, they never helped. My go to was Burt's Bees recently as it seemed to help better then other brands, but after finding this Lanolin lip balm I finally have smooth moist lips. I only find myself reapplying it before bed and 4 or 5 times a day instead of every 30-90 minutes. My daughter inherited my lip dryness and this has helped her the same.

I have tried many different kinds of lip balms made of different ingredients. I love peppermint, but learned that it irritates the skin, as well as other ingredients. I read that the best ingredients to use are lanolin, shea butter and another product that is closely related to human skin. Shea butter is a great protectant, but the texture can be grainy. I do use it a lot in lotions. Lanolin is very smooth going on and stays on for a long time. I love other products with oils and natural waxes (no petroleum products!) but they’re not as long lasting. This lip balm has sunflower seed wax to keep the lanolin from being too soft. I use a 100% pharmaceutical grade lanolin lip balm in a jar at nighttime and it lasts all night long.

One application and you're done for hours. This is the only lip balm I have ever used that I don’t have to keep applying continuously through the day or night. It's stickier to apply than most OTC products, but it WORKS for it's intended purpose. We live in MN and in the winter months the air is so dry and we always get cracked lips. This hasn’t happened once since I bought this product. If you don’t have an allergic reaction to lanolin, this is the best option ever for dry lips. Doesn’t smell like anything. Just be aware it's a little more difficult to apply than what you're used to.

My lips have become extremely sensitized to all lip treatments that contain any petroleum products (i.e. ChapStick, Carmex, anything that is medicated). Plant based products (like Burt’s Bees, etc.) do work, but they just sit on top of the skin and never really get absorbed. THIS LANOLIN LIP BALM IS TRULY AMAZING! A little goes a very long way and is fully absorbed deep into my skin in a few minutes. Another bonus is that it melts and becomes very soft at body temperature (in other words, I left it in my pocket). This makes it MUCH easier to smooth on extremely painful lips that have cracked open and bled. I don’t know what I will do if the company ever stops making it!!
