This pie carrier is the most beautiful one I've ever seen.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my mother. I had her go ahead and open it while I was on the phone with her because she has several functions between now and New Years to attend where she will be taking food items. She told me it was very well packed in the box first off. Then she said it was extremely well made, a real heirloom piece to hand down. Very solid, well hand crafted and she could tell that the person who crafted it takes great pride in their work. All in all, I believe it to be very worth the price even though I haven't seen it in person because my mother loves quality, and she couldn't get over how beautiful it was. She told me it was big enough for a 8 or 9 inch round or square casserole dish and lid such as Corning Ware, with out using the pie shelf but that she wasn't sure how much weight she would actually put in it. Said it could also be used as a picnic basket. Solid wood lid and shelf.

I ordered a pie basket from another vendor and returned it promptly. It was poorly made and for the price, not worth it. I immediately researched others available and found this one. It was shipped right away, very well made and attractive. It's a bit heavy but excellent for my purposes. I do have to let it off gas as the finish is quite strong but I appreciate the forewarning -- very happy, thank you.
