This is the perfect tool for your kids to track their reading time. We got this for our 7 year old so he could track his time spent reading each day. It is easy to use, durable, and works perfectly. Great find.

Kids use daily to track reading minutes at bedtime. They love it!

I bought one of these for my son, but as he was not interested in reading and never sat for any length of time I ended up giving it to my daughter so she could track her time for the summer reading program at the library. It works great.I just ordered this one because now that my son is getting more into reading, and he is also in the summer reading program and needs to complete a certain number of hours. He does feel a little motivated as well to see his time accumulating....The only improvement I could see in the devise is the ability to add or subtract time from the total. For example, if your child read but didn't have the timer around you could add the minutes later. Or, as I am afraid might have happened with my son at this very moment, if your child falls asleep with the timer on it will count minutes that he/she was not actually reading, so you might want to take time off. It would be nice if this feature was available.

I bought this for my 8 year old to do his 20 min reading every night but it’s too confusing for him to work. It has too many features honestly.

This is probably the easiest timer I have used. I got one in different colors for each kid so they know which is theirs. The reason I didn't give it five stars is there is no seconds timer when counting up and down so if I set that timer to count up- to see how long something takes- it counts seconds up to the first minute but that's it. So if I stop the timer at 4.5 minutes it still says 4 minutes until it reaches 5 minutes- I hope that makes sense :) so if you are looking for EXACTLY how long in minutes and seconds- it really only does minutes so your timing could be off as much as a minute. But I use them every day and u can't beat the price- great for times reading!
