American Fishing Wire Tooth Proof Stainless Steel Single Strand Leader Wire

I needed some heavy stainless steel wire for lure making as well as a couple household projects, and this quality product fills the bill. It is good quality with no rust spots that you'll occasionally see on cheaper stainless steel. Note that it's brown, which is good if you're trying to avoid flash. Look elsewhere if you need silver; otherwise, this product is definitely worth the asking price.

I am using the 44lb version for blue fish leaders. This size is really thin, about the same as 10lb mono. I use needle nose pliers to help hold it while i tie the haywire knot. the only bad thing about this is it's so thin you need to be careful while you are making your leaders or you get pricked with it. It's like working with a stick pin

Perfect size and color for building my leaders. However, remembering how long a single leader is (6-14 inches), I bought enough with 2 packs to last me 10 years.

This tooth proof leader wire is awesome! I use this to make awesome leaders, multi jig set-ups for flounder fishing, and popping cork set-ups!!! I got tired of buying the BS off the shelf that breaks on it's on... This is the best way to go!!! I use different pound tests for different applications. Just twist and go!

I just think AFW makes the best fishing wire. There are other good products but I buy AFW because I trust it and it works. As with all wire, this stuff with poke or stab you bad if you don't pay attention. I've had some bad run ins with the light wire where it ends up deep in my fingers.

I use the 58lb to make Kingfish leaders for kayak fishing. I always buy the dark color and have never had a bad batch. Holds up to the occasional shark as well.

I like singles strand for shark fishing because I can make rigs on the beach and don't need extra hardware (like sleeves and crimpers when using multi-strand). this single strand is inexpensive and works just fine. no problems.

Getting hold of hard tempered stainless steel wire in this diameter is difficult in GB as most has to be sourced from the USA. I bought some 6 inch lengths from Rodgers tackle in Ireland and this is a cheaper option but if you want longer lengths for making up rigs you may have to order from the USA, as I did. Ordering though Amazon GB makes this a straightforward task.

I've used this leader material for many years when fishing for toothy fish, I've had great success with it. I pack many sizes of it and I have never had any premature breaks. A must have in the tackle supply.

Very thin for the tensile strength. Great product for leader line for toothy fishy. Think enough it can twist well.
