Hello , this outside materials of the backpack is made of polyester, so the backpack is water resistance for light rain, but we don’t suggest use it in heavy rain , because it is not a fully waterproof material. （Warm Tips : We do not recommend using it in heavy rain, but it is ok in drizzle.）

Hello , this laptop backpack is fit up to 15.6 inch laptop and designed with thickened sponge pads for shock absorption. We'll let you know as soon as we have a backpack designed to fit for a 17" laptop.

Q: We have had the backpack less than six months and a zipper broke. How can we get it fixed?

Have you tried a shoe repair shop? You may have to go to a place like Joanne fabrics for the zipper but a shoe repair person should be able to do the stitching
