These readers are convenient to have around, and clean. Problem is that they don't seem to last over a year. I've only had this for about a month, but will update if or when anything changes. This purchased came with an extra battery, which is cool. I calibrated it per the instructions with no issues. The backing is magnetic which is pretty much a must for me at this point. The reading most accurate, about a 1 degree difference, which isn't a deal breaker.

I like this one! It’s easy to use, and keeps its battery life.I like the button to turn it on. I had the orange one from Amazon and it has auto-on so it was constantly dying.It’s a good size to keep in the drawer and fits in the hand. It was easy to clean, had no problems there.We use it a lot for chicken, and the accuracy hasn’t failed us yet.It’s plastic, but it doesn’t need to be anything else for what it is! It’s built to work.If you’re looking for simple, easy to read, and lasting battery, this is it!

I absolutely love the AMMZO Meat Thermometer! It’s super easy to use and gives accurate readings in no time. Piece of Junk. Worked one time, then went dead. Thought it could be the battery so bought new batteries....still assumed room temperature (aka dead).DON'T waste your money.UPDATE: After getting a message from their customer service on what could be causing the problem, I used their suggestion and the thermometer worked as advertised. There is a small button located on the side of the unit that the probe is on, and that button needs to be pulled up slightly using your fingernails so that it will release when the probe is pulled to start the thermometer, and then pushed back afterward when the probe is put back to turn the thermometer off. If you don't do this it will not work and after reading a lot of the negative reviews my guess is that this was the reason for their problem.I think the description should be a little more explanatory on this, but other than that it's a good product. Thus my update.
