I needed a cover for a fig tree that would stay on all season. Label says not to leave it on more than a few days.It takes 2 people to cover the tree. I used Velcro strips to keep it from flapping in the wind and ripping apart after a month like the previous cover I purchased from another vendor. This cover is a little thicker. Both appear to be made of woven paper towel like material. I have similar covers on smaller bushes and trees that are left on and wish this could as well.

This is an update to the Original review. Although the concensus was that leaving the cover on more than a few days I have now left it on thru thru this October Cold streak with frost almost 10 days and it is doing the job of allowing my late figs to ripen. (See pictures) I don't think this would be a great idea for daytime temperatures pushing the 80s for extended periods but it has performed beautifully for my intended purposes. There was a hard frost in the valley last night that normally would have shut the fig tree down for the year but it's still green and ripening figs. I was gone for a week and missed a fee that must of overspend and fallen off but I'm elated at the all around performance of this cover. Original Review:The cover is well made and and sturdy and like the fact that it is woven and not a spun material, which I have found in the past tears easier even if the same weight as woven. I bought it specifically to see if I could ripen a late crop of Figs that otherwise normal weather here would not allow. Even with the cover that may not be possible but it certainly won't be the cover's fault. The cover will at least give me 5 or 10°F more daytime heat and some cold night protection to keep the tree from shutting down. As far as installation goes, I suggest temporally sepperating the ends of the base rope and unzipping bag before pulling over your shrub. You don't want to do this in windy conditions but bag held up fine in last night's winds once installed. After you get bag on, replace the string nut and tighten base. I intend to remove after 4 or 5 days or when nights don't go much below 60°F. I think the bag is sturdy enough to be put on and off a number of times, but if I find out that is not true, I'll update my review.

Plant cover is well made. I suggest two persons install on a windy day for the larger size tree cover.I recommend this product and will be buying a few more for my smaller plants and trees.

We bought a 5gal lime tree this summer and planted it in our back yard. We're in northern SC, so we might be able to make it last, but it's still a little too cold here in winter for them. I had been using sheets while waiting on this to arrive because we had an early freeze, but they required poles to hold them up bc the tree is still small and weak; they nearly bent it over. This is much lighter and doesn't weigh it down. It's also huge, bigger than we needed, so I expect to get a couple winters from it at least. So far it seems to be a great buy.

I bought this during August when I planted an arctic mandarin tree out in our yard that had been in a pot and brought in during winter for the past 3 years. Our winters can get below the tree’s cold tolerance by up to 10 degrees. When I use it for a really hard frost, I’ll try to update this review. But it sure looks like it will work well.

No problem with this product. Frost came and was not effected

the cover has not been used but did look at it. I had to cover my apple trees to protect them for being chewed on by moose. they are also protected from the wind and snow. will be using the cover next winter.
