Does the job easily
I bought this to protect bulbs from hungry squirrels. I was worried that it would be hard to cut into usable sizes but it cut easily with a box cutter or utility scissors. I think the mesh will deter visitors but time will tell.

Works great!
Great for preventing small dogs from going through bars on iron gate. Blends in so it is not noticeable. Doesn’t obstruct view. Easy to install.

Efficient, manageable plastic hardware cloth
I ordered Yardguard in 2 colors, mistakenly thinking it was weed block. (my husband will be very relieved at not having to dig up, rinse, replace the landscape stone. There are, however, still plenty of other garden chores to do. Maintaining a garden in the raijn forest is a lot of work, and a year round job. For me, one of the biggest chalenges has been protecting my vegetablew garden from pests. Since my neighbors all have landscape plants, they flock to my yard. Last year, after upward of 20 years of fighting back one pest or another (without poisons, traps, etc) I hit omn a solution, though it turned out to be a fairly expensive one. I started small, and after finally having some success, went large (which is where it got expensive). I built cages with hjardware cloth over steel frames, in effect, an open-air greenhouse, but in my larger cages, a couple of birds managed to get in and ravage my tomatoes before we saw them, and released them. (Why would a bird goo into a cage? well, my tomatoes were in there). It did protect my rare tropical blueberries, but only because that small cage was on a concrete walkway. I am not going to move my entire garden out of the ground and onto the walkways. This will see another use, as a trellis for climbing vines, peas and long beans. I already have the frame up and in the past have covered it in chicken wire or hardware cloth, finding the latter to be stuurdier and prodive better spacing, particularly for young plants.Yardguard is a good deal less expensive than welded steel. The question is how well it will hold up to the heat qand strong sun in Hawaii. That remains to be seen, but after years of misadventures with pests, I do not see plastic keeping rodents out (they can chew through it) or, birds. (If theyt gotr into my steel cage, and they did, I do nopt know that this would really provide protection. It might but I am not counting on it. I have the green yardguard set up in part of my yard and am awaiting my peat pots to get my seedlings started. They do need to be started indoors, or the bird steal the trender shoots, pulling them right out of the ground. It had been a mystery until I saw one do it.I have provisionally rated this 4 stars and it is less expensive and easier to handle than the welded steel. If it does not break down in the sun, lasts more than a season,, I will revisit this review and up my rating to 5 stars. Little lasts in this environment, but e willl see. I am willing to give it a try and will revisit this review to report progress and adjust my rating as appropriate. I will also note that it will likely serve better for people in less harsh environments, where you get the advantages of lower cost, lower weight and greater manageability, without the liabilities..
