I use these to tie fishing flys. This spring loaded test probe tip style clip make good hackle pliers, or small hook clips to set beads or hold for bending barbs, apply UV resin to multiple flies, etc. These particular clips are smaller than average, allowing better maneuverability, with good spring tension, and better controllability. Especially useful for tying on hook sizes smaller than 20s. Personally only tie down to size 24 (tippet issues on the river), so can't comment on smaller sizes, but they are certainly handy manipulators.Have only used them for about 4 dozen flies so far, but seem to hold up well. Decent price for 16 clips. Originally got them to expand my supply of regular size clips, I now prefer these.Also good, fast delivery - don't have to wait on the slow boat from China.

"SMD grabbers use two opposed micro-fingers which grasp a wire from both sides -- these are just small Mini-grabbers. They work fine for grasping wires, but it isn't reasonable to try to use these for SMD IC's. It just doesn't work. This item is INCORRECTLY DESCRIBED. If the seller removes the "SMD grabber" description, and just calls them mini (or micro) grabbers, then I'll give them 4 stars, because they are a nice supercheap version of the classic Pomona hardware.

As in a previous review, I don't want to penalize the seller for my laziness in using the product. I am a retired electrical engineer who tinkers with stuff and I fully expect this to do the job because the clips I've used before did.

I got what I paid for I guess. Wasted a day waiting for them to show up so I’m trying to find them locally. I’m not sure what you would even use these things for.

Very disappointed. A 20 AWG wire while easy to solder to the clip as it fit the hole in side of the clip and in the connector, the clip would not close once the wire was connected. Even 22 AWG was a problem as well. A bought these because I wanted something heavier than the 24 AWG or 26 AWG wires the pre-wired ones use. I will just use them as replacements.

These served the purpose for which I bought them, fly tying.

Although I have used these clips in the electronics industry- I bought these to hold the `very small artificial dry flies used for trout fishing. I can easily select a fly among dozens by grasping the hook and then use these clips to hold the fly secure as i tie it onto my line

I use these to organize my fly tying bench. They work great.
