As Rawlplug are the "Hoover" brand, I'm disappointed and surprised that I write this adverse review. These plugs have a split (by design) right through the collar on 2 sides, and you can see that in the pictures of the product (in hindsight!). Consequently, if the drilled hole is not precise (e.g. you drill into softer mortar instead of brick), and the screw is not exactly right and perfectly straight, the screw will open up the plug at the collar, the plug or screw will slip sideways and the shank of the screw will pass through the split. A far superior design (which I thought was "normal") is one that has a complete collar with no split so that only the deeper shank of the plug opens up, not the collar as well.

You need these in tool box just in case. Perfect. 5 star every time

Come on guys, why do rawl plugs need to be wrapped in as much single use plastic as they’re made from?! What a pointless waste!!

I have used Rawl plugs for years and found them excellent for doing the job intended. This set of little yellow ones was ordered because I had used up my supply and needed more ready for the next fixing job.

These are great for around the home for small hangings and fixings. I use a battery drill into basic brick to make the hole (masonry bit) as its only 5 mm. Easy!
