So far great little radio for smaller car. Easy to hide the base under the seat and nothing more to install since the controls are in the mic. Was perfect for the wife's car where it's not used daily. Out of her way but there when I want/need it.The only down side is controlling the volume. Miss a knobs up turn for quick easy adjustment, but understand with the design not practical.

WORTH IT! This radio has medium reviews. I don't understand the low reviews. So, for that low price, I figured I'd take a chance. Glad I did. Programming took less than 10 minutes with the Chirp software using the included programming cable. The main unit is very small but very sturdy. My 1st two signal reports were well received. I asked for honest reports from my friends and explained why I needed it. They said it sounded great on their end. I do recommend wiring it directly to the vehicle vs. using the included 12v plug. I did buy a mic extender that increased the length to 4' total. That helps tremendously. I bought this because my wife doesn't want a bulky radio mounted in her car. An HT with an external antenna wasn't cutting it for me. She doesn't mind this small compact radio. (Yea!) Other than that, Excellent product! Well worth the price!

The radio is small and works well. However, the lack of a computer programming cable that does not ship with the product is a very large disappointment. Add to this the cable is not available from Amazon. Most low-cost radios I have purchased from Chinese suppliers have come with the PC cable. Thus, the price of the radio will be higher by the cost of programming cable. You could use RT Systems however that cost is 50% of the radio cost - does not make sense. The BTECH 20V2 is similar radio and the programming cable is priced at $22.49 on amazon. Disappointing the cable is not provided with the unit.Update- QYT KT8900 Radio Transceiver programing cable available on Amazon works

When transmitting, a loud hum was sent over the air.Reordered another one. Hopefully it will workReturning defective radio.

Great little radio was easy to install under my seat. Since all the controls are in the mic it has a very low profile in the car. Doesn’t get in the way of anything in the car!

Hard to see and said it comes with a programing cable but thats not true.. I noticed when i hooked this radio out the swr was pinned on 440 so i compared it to my other 440 radio and the swr is ok. Put a meter on the antenna system and the swr was within 1.5 on both 2 meters and 440 bands. I think there is a problem in the radio. Even a dummy load the swr is showing a high swr. I think i got a bad one.I was able to program it with a cable i got with another radio and it worked perfect with chirp. I want to like this radio and i am still going to test with my mobile antenna on my car and hopefully i can change the review

I had a problem. My wife and I share cars. Taking a radio out to use and them putting it away became a deterrent. With this radio it is always available and just requires a mic clip. It is out of the way for my wife and all I have to do is grab the mic.
