Very Sharp
I can definitely say these knives are a good upgrade for our kitchen. They cut meats and veggies like slicing through butter. They can get a little pricey, but its definitely worth it.

Great knives, you'll love 'em.
I already have good steel knives, but I recently picked up on credible reviews and Internet chatter that raved about Japanese cutlery. Thought I would give them a try and bought a set of four. Being ceramic, I've heard that they are fragile. I bought the round container to keep them away from my other knives. I handle them gingerly. That being said, these are simply wonderful knives. I first used them to make a beef stew. I've never had such an easy time cutting up a chuck roast. Slicing veggies was actually enjoyable. I've always had to sharpen my other knives before mincing garlic cloves. Mincing is a breeze when you can first slice a clove into paper thin slices, a few light chops and you're done. Best knives I've ever had. Highly recommended.

BREAKS EASILY!
These knives are 2 years old (nearly to the day!) and three of them have BROKEN! An actual chip breaks out of the center of the knife. I thought these would be very durable and they are not. I freeze my Ginger and while trying to cut a piece off, it just chipped the knife in the center.

A cut above
After giving the spouse a variety of off-brand ceramic knives to try, and being tired of sharpening steel knives every other day, I finally bit the cost bullet and went for the quality of the Kyocera brand of ceramic cutlery in a four-knife set. After several+ months of constant use, these blades remain as sharp as day one. It's true: good ain't cheap, and cheap ain't good.

Every day Light weight Knifes
Every time I open my knife drawer, I tend to pick the ceramic knives over the expensive santoku knives for every day use. I use it to cut apples, vegetables, chicken breast, and more. I just love how light weight they are and easy to clean. However, I did chip one of them because I used it to cut lamp chops. The durability of these knives definitely are not made for hard objects. I made a mistake using it on bones. The knives are also very sharp but it gets dull over time, you will find yourself replacing them with new ones every year or two.

VERY SHARP
These were purchased as a gift to my husband. I ended up using them more than him as I am the main cook. However, they must be put away after use. I set one of the knives on a drying pad and chipped it but is was small and was able to continue using it. Well my husband started carving a turkey and it chipped when he hit the bone (instructions say NOT to use on meats with bone). So he is going to buy the next one since I bought the set with the knife holder. Very good idea to purchase the knife holder since these cannot be thrown in a drawer! If you use as instructed, these should last for years.

This is my second set of Kyocera knives.
My first set of Kyocera knives lasted for over 10 years without sharpening. They started getting a little dull, so I bought a new set to replace them. The ceramic blades are razor sharp and stay that way for many years. Never need sharpening. The ceramic is brittle, so you must be careful not cut bone, or pry, or scrap these blades sideways or they will chip or break. But as long as you are careful and cut straight lines, they last for many years.
