Sadly this didn't work with my MacBook as stated. Tried other macs as well.

didn't work for my purposes...
I've been trying to find a solution that will connect my work pc (Lenovo Thinkpad) to a second screen which happens to be an old model of the Apple Cinema Display screen. This was my third attempt to find the right cable to do the job. After plenty of online research I was constantly referred to this cable and the detailed product description suggested it was indeed the right choice. Even IT colleagues at work said it looked like the right solution. So I bought it and...it did not work. If you want a solution to connect a Lenovo ThinkPad to an Apple Cinema Display...avoid this...waste of money!
