JUNK!!!!! It’s ridiculously small. The magnet is incredibly weak!! Couldn’t even pull the magnet between a piece of paper let alone a piece of sheetrock!!! My sons elementary school magnets we hang on the refrigerator are stronger than this piece of junk!!!! Within 10 seconds of opening the box I knew I was starting a return label!!! Went to Home Depot and bought a Klein kit for $70 and you could almost lift the hood of an old car with the strength of the magnet!!! Don’t waste your money on this cheap garbage!!

This product advertises much more than it can deliver.As soon as I opened the package, I tried the magnets out on a single sheet of drywall, (because this is where someone will usually need to run wires). The magnet is too week to even hold its own weight against gravity. Completely useless for its advertised purpose.Only useful if you are trying to guide it over 5mm plywood. But a standard 3/4” sheet of drywall is too thick.

I cut open the plastic shell and put actual neodymium magnets in the case And glued it back together, because the magnets were far too weak to work through my half-inch drywall.

The magnets are MAYBE strong enough to work through cardboard. But nothing thicker. And I say MAYBE because it is not sufficient strength to pull much of the string.This is a complete joke! Except they got my $18. I opened the box to use it only after the last return date.
