This product works as described. The two temperature settings make it nice. I use the highest setting because I like my coffee pretty hot. I do wish there was one setting a bit warmer but that isn't really a design flaw, just a personal preference on coffee temperature. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. I work from home and it fits perfectly on my desk and is easy to use. I haven't explored much with the timer function because I don't ever just leave the mug sitting there for hours. Great gift idea for the home or office.

update: changing my review to positive after further use; good product as long as you're expecting it to be very hot consistently and possibly evaporate liquids if the container sits flat and conducts heat well.Do not trust these to stay below 100F or even 150F. I thought it would be a pretty safe bet to leave it on 2hrs P1 mode for my carafe, NOPE. Completely evaporated a few cups left and charred both the outer bottom and interior. IR thermometer gun showed >300F at the center when I pulled the carafe off.

UPDATE: The original mug warmer started smelling bad again this morning and then simply stopped working altogether. The replacement arrived same-day and I honestly had high hopes that it would work, as the aesthetics and function of the this unit are exactly what I'm looking for. Within about 45 minutes, it started smelling of burning plastic even worse than the prior unit. Finally, after 5 minutes, I unplugged it. This is a clear and obvious fire hazard and should be taken off of Amazon for simple safety reasons.ORIGINAL REVIEW: First off, my wife always accuses me of having a nose that doesn't work. That said, 3-4 minutes after turning the cup warmer on, the odor that starts emanating from it is disturbing. It's like a combination of chemicals and hot plastic. For me to state that should say something... I am requesting a replacement from Amazon and am hopeful that the replacement works, but without the odor.Beyond the odor issue however, the cup warmer actually functions extremely well. I find that P2 (high power) keep my coffee plenty warm after brewing it, and the 1-12 hour timer function is awesome to make sure I don't accidentally walk away from my desk at the end of the day (or weekend) leaving it on like I did a couple too many times with my old Mr. Coffee cup warmer. This is large enough to hold an average coffee cup, and is aesthetically clean and pleasing. I appreciate that very much. The price is also fantastic @ $16. Hopefully the odor doesn't appear the replacement. I'll update the review with extra stars if that's the case. If not, I'm straight-up returning it and leaving 1 star.

It heats ceramic mugs faster than clay mugs. Clay mug was too thick didn't heat up even on high just kept Luke warm not hot. In my ceramic mug the beverage kept hot on "P1". Results vary with the type of mug used.

It worked fine. Sometimes I accidentally would turn it off or on because it's just a light touch to change from temp1 to temp2 to off. Not a big deal but I worried about my cats stepping on it. But then I accidentally touched the hot plate when reaching for my cup, causing me to spill my coffee on the plate and now it doesn't work right. The light turns on indicating it should be warm, but it usually doesn't get hot at all. If I keep playing with the button, sometimes it will start getting hot but I'm going to have to replace it as it's not working right. My fault for spilling, but just thought others should know a spill might make it inoperable. At this price, not a huge deal, but just FYI.

I purchased this because it has an on-off control. I always end up setting things on this. The automatic on-off would be a safety hazard for me. So far this is working great! I typically don't turn it on until I notice my coffee has cooled. It even works on those cups with the small bottom rim on them. IT STILL GETS the COFFEE HOT!(smiles) I haven't had it long, so if it goes bad in a year, I'll let you know. I recently purchased one for my mother. I think she'll like it.
