The media could not be loaded.  This book answered all my specific questions that I have scoured the internet for, I’m planning on purchasing a baby in the spring and I want to be the most prepared, this book made me feel more confident that I can protect the health of my new little one. The author’s writing is quirky and humorous, I enjoyed reading through the entire book, when I thought I would only read it as a reference. Would definitely recommend to anyone getting a red foot in the future.

A great intro book and photos into learning about Redfoot Tortoises, how to care for it, know it's temperature requirements and some do's and don'ts about their dwelling, humidity, and dietary requirements. I adopted a Redfoot recently and it helped me alot about the property care and characteristics of a very active tortoise species as a pet. My main takeaway as a new tortoise owner is the be aware of their requirements so you can have a healthy and happy pet that can live 40+ years. What would make this book a 5 Star rating? For me,I'd love to get more ideas on their dwellings and what they can eat (western diet vs South America). I have noticed that it is often trial and error with the local flora here and I am seeking ways to provide protein. So far, I know my tortoise, "Speedy," does not like ribeye or chicken! This is a great place to start!

This is a winner but I would also suggest getting several others to go along with it. Each may cover different items and that as a Red Food owner you may need to know.

This book is a must have for red foot tortoise owners or anyone interested in buying a red foot tortie. Even if you have other tortoises this particular tortoise is simular in some ways yet very different in others. This book explains common myths amoung red foot tortoise owners. It explains ho w to feed them, what kind of foods to feed them, etc. It explains things like the types of lights that your new tortie will need. It explains different types of houseing, breeding, origin, etc. Just an extremely well written and informative book. Again i t is a must have for any red foot tortie owner!!!

I acquired 2 tortoises that were pretty sick. While they were with the vet for a few days I had to learn a lot about tortoises since I have never had them before. I quickly got on amazon and I ordered this tort book. Then I started studying reviews on tortoise products.... What a huge help! Amazon and this book! I received this book quickly. This book is a great overview. It has all the basics and goes more in depth on issues too. Great pictures. It really saved me and my tortoises! Thanks.

I've had this book about a week and the pages are dog-eared from use .If you have a redfoot tortoise you must have this book. Mike Pingleton has been raising these cute redfoot tortoises for ages and is involved in a wide range of Tortoise conservation groups. He knows his stuff.

A brilliant book with so much information I got for my mums birthday but ended up reading it before giving my mum a chanceto, I would recommend!!

I had searched everywhere for a useful tortoise guide as we recently purchased two redfoot tortoises. Amazon to the rescue again and we weren't disappointed! A handy informative guide that even our children enjoy reading. Well worth the money !!
