Reasonably easy to fit, without removing wheel...just jacking car to extend springs. I was very sceptical about these making any difference, but they do appear to make my Smart ride a little smoother over potholes and speed humps, without adversly affecting the handling. Just fitted to front at present.

Easy to install, just get your measurement right and pick the right size product. I used mine on my rears as I had lowering springs and the car was a little hard driving over potholes and also sitting a little lower on the back. This improved ride comfort and ride height. Highly recommend. Just get your measurements right I can’t stress that enough and always install in the middle of the spring at the point the spring is closest together.

Read the review by Dazza on the 5* recommendations.I recently joined the same forum and said I was in the process of cleaning, lubricating and tuning my Smart FourTwo 451 MHD Petrol.He suggested that without a doubt one of the best enhancements you can make is to add these suspension spring buffers to the coils.They were dirt cheap at just under £16 a pair and took about ten minutes each side to install. As he said, you don't even have to take the wheels off....just take the spring loading off by jacking the car up.For this model of Smart car you need the RED buffers size D. They fit perfectly.The difference over bumps is night and day....no more cringing after every pothole or speed bump.Absolute game changer and totally recommend this supplier. I own a Smart fortwo 451 which is a great little car except when you hit pot holes!I am a member of a Smart car forum and somebody on there mentioned these and what a huge improvement they had made on his Smart. So I thought I'd give them a go. I used a bucket of hot soapy water to clean the springs and also put the rubber buffers in the hot water to make them more pliable. Jack the front of car up no need to remove the wheels, then push the buffers into the spring and twist it until it is fully on. On a Smart fortwo 451 the best position seems to be closer to the top, I did mine so that one coil was still visible. Took it for a test drive and I was amazed at the difference these buffers made, hitting a pot hole now is almost the same as a larger car, plus something I wasn't expecting was how the car handles now! Going into corners was always a bit unnerving, now the car feels much more stable. In all these have made a huge improvement on my Smart car.
