I was so excited to try this one. It looked good and smelled great like sauteed red bell pepper. I think the smell got my hopes up too high...the meat had a bit of a funny aftertaste. Maybe I'll get used to it the next time I have it. I bought the 5 pack and know I will eat them all but I'm not sure if I will reorder.Thanks hmr for offering some new entrees!

Very good. Not too spicy. Small bites. I have a stomach problem so have to have pieces of food that are chewed well. Easier when ingredients are chopped into smaller pieces. No upset with my stomach which has an ulcer from prescription meds. Hope it goes on "subscription" soon so I can save more

I recently started ordering HMR as I was diagnosed as prediabetic and needed to lose weight. This is tasty and one of my favorites. Serve over whole wheat toast or rolls, baked or mashed potatoes,or on it's own.

Portion control with a delicious twist

This isn't the worst thing I've ever tasted, but it's up there. There is nothing about it that tastes like actual sausage gravy, and it leaves behind a synthetic aftertaste reminiscent of a soap or cleaning product. The one thing that is good about this meal (like all the others in the series) is that it enforces portion control, but you could get the same portion control by having a sipping cup of soup for lunch, or half a regular can of soup. That would cost a fraction of the price for the same calorific value, and it would certainly taste better.

For diet food, I was happy with the flavor and texture. No this isn’t your 1000 cal traditional sausage and gravy but I liked it nonetheless. It’s a nice change and would be better over toast, if that’s on your plan.

I have used HMR for over 20 years because of the serving size and value, so when I saw “sausage gravy” for a new product I was all in! It reminds me of a less dense country-style gravy. The sausage bits are in perfect proportions to the cubed potatoes. The flavor isn’t overwhelmed by any of the seasoning. It is the perfect meal option for cold weather. I recommend that you try it!
