3 pounds each
Weighed on a scale, 3.0 pounds. Hawk Helium 20" sticks weigh 2.4 lb. There's a bit of lateral wobble noticeable on the steps but nothing that impedes confidence. The rope cleat system is quick and quiet. These sticks pack together well and are quiet to use. Yeah, they're not the lightest. And you'll need aiders to get higher than 12-14'. Solid sticks that are very user friendly.

Will Do Comparison To See If These Are Recalled Version
The media could not be loaded. October 2022:I’m still undecided if these are the recalled version or not? The recall notice was for roughly 1500 sticks sold in 2012 which contained a single bar on the stand-off with a burnt orange / black rope. The recalled versions were model numbers “ 70401 and 70404”. The set I received were brand new in the sealed box. They are black in color ( not brown like recalled versions). They have the single post on the stand off and a burnt orange / black rope but the model number on both the sticks and box is “ MCS2000-4”. They are require some assembly but are very sturdy. I ordered a second pair directly from Muddy’s website the same day. I will compare the two sets and update this review when I receive the second set from Muddy directly.Update October 11,2022I ordered a set of sticks directly from Muddy’s website and they sent the exact same sticks with the same model number as the ones I received from Amazon. The sticks I received from Amazon are to good sticks, not the recalled sticks as other reviews have stated.

3/5 Stars..
So this is my second set of climbing sticks… the rope and cam method is great.. the back of the climbing sticks move ALOT and clink non stop. If you’re planning on walking DEEP in the woods and set up a few hours before dark, prepare yourself.. the weight of these and my stand is actually pretty heavy. Wore me out to walk 2miles in the woods. If I had a lone wolf set up it would have been a breeze. They move on the tree a lot aswell… the rope can come loose and they fall.. my biggest worry with these has been I get up to my 20ft stand and the top stick falls down… 3/5 stars.

Could be lighter and sold individually; Product is silent and rock solid for someone who weighs 175lbs
Pro: ROCK solid on a larger diameter pine, test climb Clamping mechanism allows very high overhead placement at my extended arms reach (very useful if using step ladder mod.) Double rung system (two handles on each side) very nice for the aforementioned, extended placements I was able to get about 12' off the ground with two sticks using the step ladder mod, alone In 20 minutes I was able to get 18' up with two sticks (I back cleaned my highest (2nd) stick and replaced it again) I am sure I could do it faster with practice if I selected a tree with less branchesI read some negative reviews in regard to noise; After carefully reading the included instructions I discovered an error in my assembly which may have lead to some others describing them as "loud." When I used mine they were silent. The teflon washer must separate the bark biting mechanism from the tube stock body. This insulates product from squeaking and allows the bark biting mechanism to articulate to various tree growth angles.Con: 2.5 lbs each, they seem over built for the job; they could be lighter (for someone who is 175 lbs) The strap/rope is too short; 20" is a small diameter tree for CA; 20" is the max or you must modify If you are climbing with the modified step ladder mod's you don't need 4 sticks; however I found it impossible to buy these in sets less than 4 When I opened the box two washers and a nut were loose inside and could have easily been lost****Overall I like them but am frustrated with the pricing, weight and number of sticks you must purchase. However having four sticks allows you to pre set two other trees besides the one you are in which will cut down on time if you want to switch locations. I'd give them 4.5 stars if the scale allowed me too do so.

Good sticks .. cheap rope
The product seems structurally sound on the actual stick portion. However I’m going to have to replace the ropes in every one of these after just one use due to the ropes core that wrap around the tree are herniated and protruding following a single test climb.

Good sticks when used with an aider attached to the bottom. The bolts all needed to be tightened though.
