These socks are great and they do not squeeze too hard although I do not suffer from edema so this may not be the case for everyone. I’m a knitter and these socks are not quite as good as socks I would knit with yarn that has a higher alpaca content, they are of a pretty solid quality and I would buy more for myself because thy are keeping my feet warm and dry.

If what you are looking for is a pair of socks to deal with winter outdoors, this could be a pair. But they are itchy. Perhaps because of the wool itself. What I do is to use them with another pair of very thin socks, tights could also work, and I get the warm and protect my skin from the itchy sensation. If you are looking for socks to be at home and go to bed, these are not the best, unless you don’t have heat at home. But if you are looking for a pair of socks to deal with the snow, these are helpful, if they are not the first contact with your skin. They are like a coat for your feet. Also, I don’t know if after washing them, that could change. I haven’t washed them yet. Good luck! And I wear 8(US) 39(Europe).

They remind me of a pair of homemade quality socks, the kind that your grandma might sew together with some good styles to choose from. The wool/ alpaca blend does great at keeping out moisture and keeps your feet at the perfect temperature. But for temps below 32 F you’ll need to add another layer of socks to stay warm.

Warm but a little itchy. A tad rougher than sheep’s wool. Classic design. Well made other than that. Wouldn’t purchase again though because it’s itchy.

With a husband who works out in the cold, we’re always looking for things to help him stay warm. These have been amazing! He loves them. They’re comfortable and keep him warm.

They seem like good wool socks. But not soft to the touch like the ones I bought from Pacas.com. Actually kind of itchy for me. So I'm returning them. Next time I will look more closely at what other fibers they use with the alpaca wool.
