I’ve always worn metal frames specs, and never previously reacted to them. However a few months ago I started reacting badly to them. Made me itchy and developed small rash each side of face and near ears.Not due at optician to renew/replace my specs for a while, so extremely reluctant to waste huge amounts of money changing to plastic armed specs before due to change! I also don’t suit plastic specs and prefer the lightweight metal type.My husband had previously had similar issues, and he’d painted on a clear nail varnish. It helped, but needed reapplying regularly as it peeled off.I bought these sleeves as they were cheap and thought worth trying!They were extremely easy to use. Slip them on, half a minute with hot hairdryer and va-voom, job done!I’ve now put them on my prescription sunglasses too!I’m delighted. I’ve have the sleeves on my specs now for about a month and they’ve not moved at all.I’ll continue to get nice lightweight metal frames that I like, and simply shrink wrap the arms with these sleeves.I’m going to look around to see if I can buy coloured sleeves, but if not I’m happy enough with black sleeves rather than heavier plastic frames or a sore face!
