Managing Depression with CBT For Dummies

Not engaging
Not really an easy read, mainly because I lacks engagement. I do think that 'Dummies' needs to up their game in a virtual world. It just seems so dated.Realistically what it is saying may help, but Im struggling to pick up the book to read any more. It's formal and doesn't ask how you are feeling...I'm not suggesting to turn to a celebrity endorsed book (although read anything that helps)My head isn't clear enough to read the pages that are so rammed full of information - there's almost too much detail. It's like a college textbook in a way.A person with depression often needs that motivation, that help now, something clear, straight forward and engaging. They also need that personal touch, a friend to help them through.I should've know better...Dummies are textbooks - not a friend.

This can point you in a sensible direction
Gosh, so much information! CBT is not the answer to everything, let's be clear. But when you are in a muddle with your thoughts it is something to try - no wishy-washy metaphysical forces in this book! Thank fully! Give yourself a treat with some sensible ideas.

Yet to read, but brought on recommendation. As it has good reviews.

Helpful
Having been through CBT in the past found this quite a help with reminders. Might be more difficult if one had never had CBT before.
