Bright enough and loud enough to wake even the deepest of sleepers like me.
This clock took me a few minutes to figure out how to set the alarms- but once I figured out the buttons it wasn’t actually that difficult. The light turns on a few minutes before the sound, giving me time to turn it off or snooze it if I choose. The round shape of the clock means that I sometimes need two hands to turn off the alarm. While not convenient- I’m going honking this might be a good thing. I’ve been known to turn off other alarms in my sleep. I like the multi sensory aspect of this alarm clock!

GREAT-- Excluding two factors
As a dawn simulator-- this clock knocks it out of the park. I do, however, have two major complaints that may cause me to replace it with something else: The buttons and the shape.1. The buttons. When I wake up in a sleep-drunken stupor, I want to reach over with one hand and turn the alarm clock/light off. I've found this to be very difficult, because the buttons are tiny and poorly placed. I have had to fumble with it for a while before getting it to turn off.2. The shape. This corresponds to the size of the buttons. The shape of this clock makes it all too easy to knock over when you are reaching to press a tiny, hidden button, and the last thing I want to do is wake my wife up with a crashing noise of the falling alarm clock. In summary, I love having a dawn simulator; I think it's a brilliant idea and I love waking up to it. But the hassle of turning it off every morning makes me want to find a replacement for it -- something more chunky, less flimsy, with easier to reach buttons.I have spoken.

Very pleasantly surprised and pleased
I bought this light as a temporary stand-in while I get a smart light setup that I like. Given its small size and low price, I didn't expect much. But it really is quite bright in a dark room and does a very good job of gently waking me up. Even if I sleep through the gradual "sunrise," the nature sounds alarm wakes me up and is not as annoying as I would have thought. And the light makes it feel natural that it is time to get up, even though I do so well before dawn. My one objection is the buttons that are used to reset the two alarms, the time, and the sleep function. The pictures on the buttons are supposed to convey their function, but I don't find them intuitive at all, nor are they easy to see, reach, and press. There is a set of labels that comes with the clock to make the buttons more easy to find and identify, but I seem to have lost the labels. If I find them, I'm sure they will help somewhat. Still, they rely on the same images that are on the clock, so they are no more intuitive for me. Overall, though, I find this little clock surprisingly useful and effective. As other reviewers have mentioned, it would be nice to be able to shut off the alarm and the gradually increasing brightness without turning off the light altogether. But that is a function I would expect of a more expensive clock. For the price, I think this is an excellent choice.

Great idea but needs improvement
I expected the sunlight to gradually brighten as it gets closer to wake up time but no, it just turns on so it's like someone turning a light on in your face if you happen to be facing the clock when sleeping. The clock itself needs to have a heavier base because you actually have to hold it with both hands to do anything with it bc of the shape and bc it's so lightweight... it's just awkward to handle especially when you're half asleep. My other issue is the location and size of the buttons. Difficult to get to.They send little stickers to place on the clock to help you with the functions of the buttons but the wiring is very small and the stickers just don't look nice

Works ok
I’ve had this item for right at a year and the alarm 1 feature has stopped working. I overslept and missed something important bc of this. Not happy with the lifespan of this product

Réveil conforme à la description.
J’ai employé ce produit pour un réveil en douceur et cela fonctionne. Appareil un peu difficile à programmer mais ça en vaut la peine.

Awesome!
I'm waking up to soft daylight and the sound of waves crashing and seagulls!! It's wonderful! I hit snooze twice the first 2 mornings just to experience it again!

Very good buy
This product was used as a sleep/wake-up aid, as the ad suggests. Instructions were clear. Product seems very well made.

Good Product for its Price
For the price, this is a fantastic product. Cost me just Australian Dollars $63. The Philips branded one (naturally with more finesse and function), is 280 AUD (or thereabouts).YES you can plug this into an AUSTRALIAN power source no worries. The product arrived to me WITH the correct Australian wall plug.I really like this product and am really glad I bought it. My views on the product, as follows:The main problem I have with this sunrise simulation clock, is that the first "step" of light emitted from it (in its progression through the Sunrise simulation), illuminates my (small) bedroom too much for my brain, which registers this light as too bright and thus wakes me at, or very close to, the first moments of the sunrise simulation (I set for 20 minutes, then changed to 10 minutes due to this problem). So a huge improvement to the design of this sunrise simulator machine, would be to make the first light that it emits be MUCH less bright - just a very, very gradual lightening of the bulb. If they achieved this, it would make this product amazing (particularly if the price remained as it is).If they ALSO made a gradual easing in of the volume of the alarm part of the clock (I chose the "birdsong" which is quiet nice, no problems), that would also be fantastic. The birds start abruptly, which is effective!! but....perhaps an easing in with this would be nice too.Overall, I am HUGELY IMPRESSED with this clock. I love being woken so gently, and am sure my brain will become used to the first light emitted by this machine, and not wake so quickly. Time will tell.Certainly a bargain. Yes, the "controls" ARE difficult (clumsy) to use - e.g. the control to switch off alarm, control to dim or completely black out the time clock display etc etc. It's a big orb of a clock (naturally) which is too big for a hand to get around without the clock tipping and moving annoyingly.More cannot be expected at the cheap price. So far so good. A few tips for potential buyers are as follows:1. Yes, clock must be plugged into the wall socket 24/7 as it does not work without constant power source.2. There is a "button" battery inside the clock (changeable when you need to insert a new one), and this keeps a "memory" of the alarm you have set for yourself (all alarm choices), as well as remembering the time of day! Great.3. You need to read through the instruction booklet carefully before programming your alarm. Not difficult, just need to leave a bit of time to do this "chore" which is to be expected.bye!
