These balls definitely have an odor, but it's a fair trade-off for their effectiveness. I used them in combination with a moth repellent spray in drawers and closets. After a couple weeks, all signs of moths disappeared - no more larvae, holes, or sightings. My wool clothes now stay protected in moth-free drawers thanks to these balls. There is a noticeable smell, but I find it almost reassuring, knowing it means the repellent is working. If you want an odor-producing but truly effective moth deterrent, these work great. No more ruined sweaters!

I have a number of mohair bears that the little moths loved to lay their eggs in the fabric and the grubs eat away at the mohair and eventually destroy it. These mothballs last 3 months and definitely keep away the moths. Works for wool as well
