Nice umbrella! Ribs are fiberglass and the grip is textured rubber...grippy enough.

Q: What is your guarantee? My umbrella broke after only being used 2 times. I closed it and tried to reopen it a bit later and the canopy won't open.

Mine broke too. It was delivered on August 18 this year, and it broke in gust of wind in early October! I chose to buy this umbrella because A.Brolly stressed how the Portobello umbrella has superior durability. I like the idea of having a quality umbrella that will last. The seller clearly states in the answer to this question, “A: Our products have one year warranty. If your umbrella has functional problem, we will send you the replacement. A.Brolly Seller · 3 months ago” I tried the A.Brolly site to process for a replacement. It instructed me back to the Amazon site. The Amazon site then denied the request since it broke literally days past the 30-days cut off. I don’t understand why can’t I get a return process through Amazon if the warranty is one year. Is this Bait and Switch by A.Brolly, or is Amazon just incompetent to deal with A. Brolly’s warranty? If you don’t want to be in the same boat as me, think twice before you buy.

Q: what is country of origin?

DO NOT PURCHASE! Mine fell apart after a few uses and would not stay open. Absolute Chinese junk
