Screens are good at containing grease splatter from cook top pan frying. You will certainly still have some splatter from turning and tending, but there is a whole lot less. The screen is pretty fine, but moisture still seems to escape properly. I use to use a screen long ago, but got away from it. Got tired of the mess and got these, and they work well. I like the grab tab on top with no extended handle to be in the way while cooking. I find I often don't need the rubber grips for heat protection, but nice to have in case. These will work in the oven too for skillet baked foods (pork chops anyone?) as well.Cleaning is best done in the dishwasher. You can clean them by hand, but the fine screen demands good hot really soapy water and a brush and/or sponge. They are stainless steel and they clean up nicely. With no long handle, they will store easily with lids or on edge with other flat tools like cutting boards or baking sheets.A good deal and glad to have them.

Does good to keep the splatter down from all over the entire stove. Warm soapy dish water and a toothbrush to clean and we should stay grease free. Thanks.

They are nice but the screen seems a little bigger than it should... grease will occasionally pop out of the frying pan

Using it while cooking because I'm tired of cleaning grease up from everywhere

I gave it all big stars for durability and materials, but I am chucking this set in the trash. I’ve never been burned by a splatter screen in my life—until now. And twice in two months!The stainless edging around the screen becomes blistering hot. There isn’t a traditional handle, so you have to reach with a separate silicone pad they provide to lift the lid off. And unfortunately, those little winged items do not stay attached to the lid handle set in the middle of the screen.Both times I burned my arm in nearly the same spot by reaching over the screen to lift it up.Needless to say I am now looking for a screen that is slightly less hazardous in design.Also: quite honestly a lot of oil would escape from my cast iron pan when I sautéed. I cook almost every day, so my kitchen tools and gadgets are essential.I was not impressed by its ability to stop spatters.And that was just doing ground vegan burgers or stir fry.I think they should put a warning on this set to let people know just how hot it gets.And no, I am not a litigious sort… just letting folks know they might want to steer clear of this one. Especially if you have children learning to cook!
