Finally a pattern that is timeless! I've been combing the store and company catalogs for years and never liked what is there; the skirt is too big, or the sleeves too dated, or the neckline is unflattering, or too much frills, or not enough focus point, or too little coverage etc. Until now, this one is PERFECT! So it looks like a copycat of one oversea princess' but then she has class and so does this pattern and I've been looking LOOOOONG before her appearance. A-line skirt with just enough fullness, neckline and sleeves coverage for modesty, a simple bustle so front and back is pleasing to look upon! I modified the bustle for mine and I've made a trial fitting with the proper measurements and I am very pleased because as we all know, we are not shaped like models in photos - we have lumps and bumps that they don't have. The fit is wonderful.Now the technical notes - The description does not state the level of difficulty but this pattern is ADVANCED sewing. Cut the pattern size according to the measurements, not your usual store clothes size. I trace the pattern pieces onto gift wrap tissue paper and make adjustments accordingly so as not to ruin the original pattern until I have it right - like I said above we are not shaped like models.I am excited to begin the next stage - find the perfect fabric and begin sewing the actual dress!
