Great Concept, Functional Design, Good Sound
Update: moved it up to 5 Stars after a season of use. Wireless headphones on the slopes is a game changer.Haven't had them for long and have yet to try them on the slopes, but keeping my fingers crossed that I got a durable pair. Sounds like the quality of functioning is hit or miss, so I bought the 4 year Square Trade insurance for $5. Small price to pay for a FANTASTIC concept. I've been a skier all my life, and really enjoy making turns with tunes. The speakers fit well in my helmet ear pads. I put them on the wrong side of the padding at first and that was not comfy at all, realized my mistake and then slid them behind the padding - basically creates an on-ear headphone. Not audiophile quality, but for skiing the volume and sound quality is better than good. The buttons are easy to press, controls are explained in the manual, simple two clicks on the left ear for volume up, one click left ear for volume down. One click on right ear to pause and restart music. Really looking forward to taking them up on the slopes, although I'll probably pack a backup pair of earbuds in case things go awry. A hopeful 5 Stars for now, will come back and upgrade to 5 Stars if they prove to be reliable.

Love this 100%
This product seems to get divisive reviews and I think the reason is simple. The walkie-talkie function depends on cell service so when you're skiing you can imagine that this isn't so reliable. It's unrealistic to think that this solution can be a good walkie-talkie when it's not a radio. Back in the day my friends and I would have little walkie talkies so we can stay connected on the mountain, but now there are cell phones. So really, when I need to get a hold of other people I just call or text them using my phone's assistant when I have cell service and they don't even need to have this headset installed. If you truly need a walkie talkie, get a radio. So now that's out of the way I will say that I'm extremely happy with this. It fits seamlessly into my helmet and it's easy to use if you spend a few minutes to learn what the buttons do. the volume is just perfect so that I can hold a conversation nobody knows I even have my music playing. I was worried about safety but I'm able to hear my surroundings and still hear the music since this is not an in-ear headphone. Many people will consider using their regular headphones or airpods instead. That may be cheaper, but this solution is so much better for two big reasons. First, buttons! I underestimated how great it would be to tap my ear and be able to do what I want with gloves on. It's a brilliantly simple system and I love it. Second, you don't have to worry about wires, something falling out of your ear, or something being in your ear blocking out important sounds around you.Totally worth the investment.

Excellent Product! Audio quality is GOOD enough
I was skeptical about buying the Outdoor Tech 2.0 due to the poor audio reviews here. Sound/music quality is important to me, however I bought them anyway and skied with them for 4 days @ Vail. Out of the box, I agree the sound quality is poor (high pitched) you will need to go to your phone settings and adjust the equalizer which made the Outdoor Tech's sound extremely better. After adjusting the equalizer on my phone I have no complaints about the sound quality. There is room for improvement for this product which is why I didn't give them 5 stars. For example; the pause and play functionality didn't always work especially during extended breaks so I had to find my phone and play the music again. I stream music through Spotify so having a constant connection is also important. I also used a Sony action cam that was mounted on the side of my helmet which interfered with the Outdoor Tech's button because it was hard to tap. The voice commands for this product were awesome, you can send text messages and make calls without digging for your phone. Incoming calls tell you the number that is calling not the contact name. Unfortunately I wasn't able to figure out how text messages could be listened too through the product (if they can be). The microphone is great and the quality on the opposite end received no complaints. The battery life is great I never experienced an issue. I would highly recommend this product for anyone who wants to listen to music and keep in touch with friends and family on the slopes. In fact all my friends after witnessing the use of this product want a pair. I didn't try out the app because no one else had a pair, voice commands are good enough for now. Great job Outdoor Tech your product has improved skiing /snowboarding for the better!

Worth it
- I am very happy with these speakers. They connect easily to my iphone and provide music for a solid full day on the mountain.- I have yet to experience any loss off connection throughout the day. I usually charge them the night before the trip and they last as long as my legs do.- Controls are almost too easy once you get comfortable with them. They fit in my SMITH Vantage helmet perfectly. Though I will say I find the controls are more responsive if I make an effort to push the speakers to the bottom of the cutout provided in the ear muffs of the helmet.- Sound quality is what you can expect from a direct, open, over-ear design SPEAKER. These aren't headphones in the sense that they don't cup around your ears, sealing off external sound. These add music to the surrounding sounds you would expect from a day on the mountain. To compare these to headphones would be like apples to oranges. If you expect them to cut off external sound, you will be disappointed. You can drown out other sounds with higher volumes but then it's an all out metal session everywhere you go.- I am very impressed with this product. I don't know how I've gone without them all this time. They are a must have for anyone who enjoys music on the mountain.

FAVOLOSO

Operation is great, sound quality sucks
The big control buttons work well but the sound quality sucks. They sound like an AM radio; even the standard in-earphones that come with your friendly priced mobile phone sound much better than these. I'm going to return them and will simply keep using the said in-earphones.

Jederzeit wieder

Definitely a good product, loud enough and good quality for a helmet speaker, paired very easy with my pixel 2 XL, you just need to pair Bluetooth and then pair as headphones, basically pair twice.Easy touch use and amazing battery life.
