Perfect post-surgical sidekick!
I am very satisfied with this Hugo Mobility Adjustable Derby Handle Cane. I had total hip replacement in September 2015. At first I needed the cane to help me walk and get up stairs. Now, I walk well, but am using it outdoors to prevent a fall. Once I get to 12 weeks post surgery, I will no longer need the cane at all, and I have to say I might actually miss it. Here are some things I like about it: It is incredibly light weight while also being very sturdy (it supports up to a 300-lb. user); it is easy to adjust and included an adjustment that suits my 5' 11" height; the cap at the bottom is not super wide (cane will not stand on its own), but has enough surface area that it grips the ground well (except on ice and snow), and with enough flexibility to follow through and maintain contact with the ground as I stride; the handle has a nice shape that makes for a good grip, with a slight rise in the back and front to keep your hand in place (I wear a size 7 to 8 female glove and find this handle plenty roomy), and with a soft, flexible portion in the middle that is comfortable and prevents fatigue; there is a strap that can be put around your wrist to prevent dropping the cane and to hang it on a coat hook when not in use. Since I live in Juneau, Alaska, I was hoping to be able to use this cane during my full 12-week precautionary period on any kind of surface, but - as I mentioned previously - the cane did not seem quite as stable on ice or in slush. I did not deduct my rating, however, because I think the cane serves it's purpose in most circumstances, for a variety of user sizes and heights, and is comfortable to use. I will be traveling soon, and will appreciate the adjustability and lightness of this cane when downsizing it for my carry-on. If I was in a position to have to use a cane indefinitely, I would most likely look for a cap to buy with spikes on it, or - if none was available - would buy a regular one and screw little screws through from the inside, maybe with a round metal plate inside to stabilize the screws and protect the cap from splitting. Because we have had such a warm winter thus far and my need for the cane is almost over, I did not go to the trouble of spiking the tip; instead, I used one of my spiked hiking poles when it got icy for a couple days. The handle is not near as comfortable, but it worked. I can't think of anything else to say, except to let you, the reader, know that I paid for this cane on Amazon - I was not given the cane or paid for my opinion.

Great Product - Highly Recommend
My fiancé purchased this cane to use while awaiting a total hip replacement. It has worked very well for him and he is very happy with the stability it provides when walking, using stairs, etc. The tip of the cane provides great traction, but my fiancé replaced it with the Hugo Quadpo tip, which he loves because it keeps the cane in a standing position. We agree with the other reviewers that the product logo appears too frequently on the cane and detracts from its good looks. My fiancé tried using acetone and GooGone to remove the logo on the cane shaft, as recommended by some of the other reviewers, but it didn't work. He ended up using a razor blade to gently scrape the logo away and was able to do so with no scratching or nicks to the metal shaft. The cane is of good quality materials, easily adjustable for height, and the handle grip is very comfortable. The price was very reasonable and was an excellent purchase.

Great Cane for the price.
Works great. No rattle and very strong. The grip is very comfortable. I take it with me everywhere I go. I read about complaints about the label on the cane. It was pretty noticeable. I took a wood ruler (the kind with a metal strip) and quickly but lightly worked it back and forth over the white labeling. It came right off without damaging the black finish of the cane. A wipe with a damp cloth to get the dust off and it looks great. I removed the strap as It was too small to fit over my hand and I don't need a strap. I am very pleased so far.

SIX STAR PRODUCT.
I have purchased about five of these things over the years for family and friends.EASILY adjustable length, comfortable handle, strong,, and AFFORDABLE.The great price makes if feasible to keep a spare in the trunk of both family cars - great for when the primary use cane gets left at work or at home. Rubber tip is durable and functional.

Not what they once where. :-( "BUT...."
The first time I purchased a Hugo Mobility cane it was instant satisfaction. It was made heavy duty, and the ergonomic handle was a dream come true. 2013 was the first time I bought one, I loved it so much I had to buy another one in 2016 when my first one started to show signs of heavy use. Once again a perfect cane for a big guy like me could ask for. 2019 came around and my second cane was finally showing signs of old age. Seeing as how the Hugo cane never failed me in the past, I figured I should buy another one.At first I loved the new handle design, I thought it looked cool and it added more grip. I did notice that the cane felt a little lighter but I thought; "It'll be ok Hugo never let down before. Literally...." Until I started to notice the flaws. The fastener in the center of the cane kept coming loose all on it's own, just from normal use. And every time I attempted to fasten it back in place it wouldn't tighten. I would keep turning and turning and the thing just wouldn't work. So I took a closer look and noticed the threads were coming apart. I don't know if Hugo Mobility is under new management or if Hugo Mobility just got greedy and wanted to cut corners on there product. LAAAAAAAAME. BUUUUUUT... I do have to admit the handle is still a greate design, it fits in my hand perfectly. No other cane offers this level of comfort. It aslo provide exelent stability. Especially for a HUGE guy like me.Pros: Exellent ergonomic handle.Strong and stable support.Perfect height adjustment options. (Be you tall or short)Cons: Possible poor craftsmenship. 50/50 chanceThe foot is STILL of EXTREMELY poor quality. (But buying a new foot isn't hard, or expensive.)The STUPID logo can't be wiped away easily anymore.
