Infidelity not only can destroy a marriage but it shatters the relationships within the extended family. That’s my experience, that being, the extended family. The marriage was destroyed, though much healing has taken place, but how does the rest of the tribe deal with the broken glass? This book gave me so much hope, as a family member, repairing the brokenness and bitterness in our family. Lauren showed me exactly what forgiveness looks like and how it’s a daily decision, “a commitment” she says. How to step up and find strength to move forward. How to clean up the mess.I love this line in chapter 4- “you can’t control his choices. You can’t control his desires. And you sure as hell can’t navigate the path he will ultimately take. However you can to control your reactions to this horrible hand you’ve been dealt. You can control what you allow your mind to fixate on. Above all you can control the path you take the one lined with hope and healing that will move you forward.” As an extended family member this gave me freedom to completely let go and have hope that we will all make it through even when we don’t always see the light. It will will shine once again.

When life as I knew it slowly and painfully completely crumbled around me, I struggled with feeling like NO ONE really "gets it." All the many books and articles I searched, as well as well meaning family, friends, and church family members didn't quite seem to relate to my situation from a "knowing" place of understanding with the situation I was in.This book is so refreshingly open about the real depth of struggling through this, and as a Christian woman I am so grateful to the author for being REAL about this and not glossing over the pain. I read the whole book as a page turner because I finally felt understood and that maaaaaaaybeeeee there is light at the end of this tunnel I've been dumped into. I recommend this book highly to anyone in a similar situation.

When I was going through unexpected abandonment and a divorce full of accusation and blame, I immediately began a personal overhaul with counseling, journaling, and reading every book and blog that helped me sort through what was happening and how to emerge a new and great version of myself. This title felt like my silent scream. Lauren's book is raw and real, engaging with depth and light. She helps you walk through your version (or how to look back on it) and see you're not alone, and just maybe it will be better - maybe there's a new story happening. I love a shifter of perspective, and this author enables that and connection. "You will heal and be whole again." There's good news.

I finished this almost in one sitting and I'm going back to start again. Very well written with many truths and thought provoking revelations. The second time through I'm going to stop and let myself absorb those things. I really believe that out of the 10+ books I've read on this topic it is the one that is going to provide me with the best opportunity of making some kind of sense out of the messy life I've found myself tangled up in. Read this book in one sitting! Lauren gives a raw look inside a marriage broken by infidelity, and the light at the end of the tunnel. Her humor sprinkled in, she takes us with her on her true journey of love, loss and love again. A great read for those going through similar situations, or not! I read this as an unmarried bachelorette and still learned a great deal about forgiveness and finding yourself after tragedy. Hoping she writes a follow up book!

Amazing book! It captures you in and you can’t put it down. Once you’re finished, you want to read it again and pass it on to everyone. I read this book previous to getting married, and although I couldn’t relate to Lauren’s experience, there was so much insight to be gained about protecting your marriage and how to work through challenges in the family. Her grace and beauty are so inspiring, and no matter where you are at in life, Lauren’s story will fill you with a divine hope in the future.

This is one of those books that you start reading and you can’t put down until you finish it. This is a raw, heart wrenching story of real life.The writer did an excellent job revealing her feelings, emotions, mistakes and triumphs !!! This is a true story of love lost , picking up the pieces and reinventing a better life than you would have ever imagined .

This really touched my heart in a time when I needed to have it touched. So many beautiful point and words of encouragement. So many wonderful Bible verses to be able to go back and reference. An easy read that I will pick up time and time again I'm sure.
