Q: What is the amp rating on this outlet?

You can look at any receptical & tell if it is 15 amp or 20 amp. This is 15 amp. Next time your at the store find a receptical that is rated at 20 amps & you will see a small horizontal slot in the plug that is added to the standard looking receptical, that is an easy way to tell at glance if it is 20 amps. If I had a way I would attach a picture. Remember the little added horizontal slot makes it 20A, if not it is only 15A unless identified otherwise.
