Experiencing Jesus Through Communion

This book is so helpful in my walk with the Lord Jesus

...if you already own The Power of Communion (ISBN-10: 0768445469,) this book is almost entirely redundant. Except for the addition of short, daily prayer suggestions in Experiencing Jesus Through Communion, the content of both books is virtually identical. The paragraph breaks have been changed, but not the words. At most, this should have been a 40 page companion booklet to go with the first book.Having said that, I still highly recommend this book, but you only need one or the other. Having grown up in an entirely different theological tradition, I find Bill and Beni Johnson's insight refreshing and scintillating. It's not as though they are presenting Bible passages I've never seen before, but they do shine a light on them from an entirely new angle.I have seen a few reviews of these two books stating there's nothing new in them. I guess the takeaway is that it really depends on your upbringing. If you have grown up in the Johnsons' church, this may all be old news to you. But, if you're like me, and have grown up in a more old-school, "traditional church" environment, this book may very well "Wow!" you the way it did me. If I was buying one for the first time, I would probably pick this one, simply because it has the daily prayers. Read it, let it challenge you, and become transformed for the better as a result. :)

Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. Taking communion has become part of my every day devotional life, and it helps me to see through God’s eyes. Now I pray releasing those I bring in with me to the Father heart of God. knowing He is moving upon them because I ask gives me fresh encouragement. More so, it gives Him opportunity to touch their heart because I’m asking for them. Thanks Beni for this treasure in my hand! Karen
