A predictable thriller
Okay I feel like I got a different copy from the rest of #bookstagram cause every one else seemed to love this!!This is one of those stories that seems SO good and you can’t get enough of while reading, but later, in hindsight it falls flat! 🥲I felt like I had the same experience with #theguestlist as well and may be I should stop falling for this scam lol 🥹The story begins with our MC going to visit her brother in Paris but he seems to be not reachable at all! Now its up to Jess to fond out what happened to her brother 🙌2.5⭐️Its got a very strong plot, but sadly it got too long and very predictable towards the end! I didn’t hate the book, I just lost my patience with this!👍:- An eerie setting that instantly set the mood for a dark story-a new plot twist every 60 page mark or so (which is also something i didn’t like actually)-a quick page turner👎:-a new plot twist made me lose track of the main storyline-i got so impatient to get to the end-super predictable 😿

Ingenious, marvelous, engaging plot
Oh am in awe of the plot of characters of the reader, that bulding though seems like a very very old and gross amidst posh style beauty, book is one of them, major reveal and major reveal and so on and on as you advance towards the end, handsomely written and beautifully crafted drama, drama, drama and more drama!! Careful fellow readers, double check the time you start reading this one, for you would not be able to put it down easily an may end up spendin g the whole night and next morning with eyes weary yet fully awake in anticipation of much promised and there we go- drama, drama, and more drama!! Happy reading, folks!!

Quite an interesting thriller-mystery read!
The book is about the mystery of the disappearance of the character Ben. The book also involves the mystery of an old apartment building in Paris inhabited by residents Nick, Mimi, Sophie, Antoine and the Concierge. All of the characters are mysterious and all of them has something to hide and everyone of them is involved with Ben in one way or the other whether it’s the good guy Nick, or the weird little Mimi or the one with the silk shirt, exquisitely-cut dark skin trousers and a scarf brightly patterned Hermes silk around her neck who lives in the Penthouse of the building “Sophie”, or the old Concierge woman or the alcoholic Antoine, each of them has something to hide. They’re all neighbours (well you think they are until you find out that there’s a mystery to that as well). Jess (Ben’s half sister) suspects each and everyone of them and tries her best to find out about the hidden truth.I was hooked from the first few paragraphs of the book but then it was somewhat slow paced in the middle like I really wanted to rush towards the ending of the book to find out what happened. Other than that this book was a perfect read and I highly recommend it. This is the first book of Lucy Foley I have read and I would definitely want to read more of her books. The chapters are short though but I enjoyed reading it.Highlights: The French language and the description of the city of lights throughout the book 🌸My rating: 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Packed with Twists!
Jess gets in touch with her journalist half brother Ben Daniels in Paris, in order to flee England due to her uncomfortable job situation. She is broke and has no one else to fall back on. As soon as she arrives, she is served with a platter of a missing brother and a suspicious apartment filled with unsavoury occupants. This is my second book of the author, first being The Guest List, which was a notch higher. Ms.Foley had me hooked on to the story from the very first page. There is something about the way she drives the story through each character that the flow is incredible. The suspense gets as intense as it gets messy. I love that mess simply 'cause it makes the characters so real, that I could easily connect with them.I simply couldn't wait to find out what she was about unravel to me next. Super fast paced, compelled me to keep turning pages. There were some fabulous lines and the ending was spiffing. So much to learn from this supremely talented author. If you enjoy crime thrillers, I would surely recommend this beauty.

Not Usually a Mystery Fan but Loved this Anyway!
The characters are well-drawn, the plot believable, the heroine a woman to be admired. Also an interesting, fresh structure with multiple points of view. I would employ the cliché “a real page turner,” but I’ll try a new angle: I was reading this away from home on vacation, and my Kindle charge ran out. Horrors! I HAD to keep reading. I figured out I could put Kindle app and therefore my library on my iPad. Yay! Then iPad ran out of juice. Boo! I came up with a pretty creative solution for how to charge that, because I HAD to keep reading! Footwork not as fancy as our heroine’s, but close. Highly recommend you get this. If you read on a device, charge it up if you’re leaving home!!

Fast enjoyable read
The characters are quite interesting. Lots of mystery in what I imagine is a beautiful old building filled with secrets.

Engrossing
After reading The Hunting Party, I decided I liked Lucy Foley’s slightly disjointed way if writing. For me anyway, it’s reflective of life events which do not occur in a linear way. The Paris story is slightly confusing in that the chapters are told from different character’s viewpoints; I found it gave a wider perspective to the story. There is a central storyline and I was not disappointed.

Entretenido
Me gustó. Ultimamente leo mucho este género y parece que todos los escritores sigan un manual de instrucciones.... Agradezco a la autora su esfuerzo en escribir algo un poco original. Te mantiene en alerta, te sorprende bastante, enhorabuena a la autora otra vez.
