Disappointed
I bought this for my grandson for his 7th birthday. He loves building things, so I thought this would be great. I read a lot of product reviews and thought this one looked the best. Bottom-line: the pieces do NOT stay together, so you can't build anything!! I'm a grown-up and I couldn't even get the pieces to stay together to build a box, let alone a chute. My grandson was beyond frustrated.

Creative and solid toy but pieces don’t make sense
Love the idea of these but there are not enough pieces for all of the stickers so you have to think ahead of what you want to place on the octagonal pieces. I now don’t have enough pieces to finish the alphabet. Good and solid toy but not thought out.

Not as sturdy as you think
This was a gift for our 6-year-old and he is a bit frustrated with it. While the pieces of the marble run are sturdy themselves, the way you have to put it together is a bit frustrating. When building the tunnels, you have to snap them in place, not just stand them together like other magnetic tile sets we have had.

A+ set! Compatible with Magna-Tiles and Picasso Tiles
Our kindergartener (5) loves magnetic tiles and marble run, so it's wonderful that there are toys combining both of these elements. I consider these STEM or STEAM toys -- science, technology, engineering, arts math. We absolutely love them because they are open-ended and foster creativity as well as an innate sense of physics. He got his first sets of Magna-Tiles and Picasso tiles when he was 3 and still plays regularly with them, sometimes for hours at a time. Some of the "constructures" he makes are complex and inventive -- connected in ways that I would not think of. Seeing how confidently and quickly he builds some of his structures is a rewarding experience as a parent. At this point, we probably have 300+ pieces of various shapes, including base plates and trains. I love that these Dayeto tiles are compatible with them as well as their clones. The pieces are high quality and just as good as the brand name tiles. This set also comes with several sheets of cute stickers for the rotating gates. Do note that the pipe pieces attach to the holders via little prongs, not magnets. This can be difficult for younger kids to align and push together. Even our 5 year old has trouble sometimes. He has incorporated several Magna-Tile sets into his play area, including a Melissa & Doug Paw Patrol set of cardboard blocks and a PicassoTiles Ferris Wheel Accessory Kit 8pc Magnetic Toy Building Block Magnet Set Children Construction Tiles STEM Interlocking Playboard Educational Learning Stacking Blocks Child Brain Development .

Marble Fun
There are actually a fairly wide variety of marble run sets out there on the market and this one is intended for the younger set. It is a great STEM-oriented toy without being overly cerebral, the concentration and directions do not get in the way of the fun. Very satisfying and a good gift. Fun for adults to play with as well.
