Easy five stars.
Very happy with the improvement this tint made to my space. You will definitely notice a difference. Do not install on a windy day or on a hot day in sunshine. Even when spraying tons of soapy water on the window and tint, the hot sun kept drying it up. I’ll be installing more of this but will do it when the sun is going down. Easy five stars even tho it is a bit tricky to install when alone.

This stuff is incredible
First off I want to start off my review stating that I tried several different window films. I finally swapped over to this one because it had the reflective material that I really wanted to actually reflect away the energy instead of absorbing it, and it is used for the exterior. Let me elaborate a bit on this. I initially tried Gala products that were also all reflective. I tried their privacy and heat control stuff. The problem with those is that they get extremely hot on the INSIDE of the window. That is so ridiculous because all that does is radiate heat still slowly into the room. I saw zero to maybe barely any temperature drop when using that product. That changed dramatically when I tried this stuff. This stuff goes on the exterior and will ALSO heat up a bit, however this stuff is on the outside glass so the wind will carry away some of the heat and the heat will radiate back OUTSIDE of the house. This stuff is so shiny, that as the sun sets I can see casts of light shooting across my lawn that moves along with the sun. That is point one, is that is proof that it is reflecting a lot of the energy elsewhere, preventing that energy from entering the room. The interior stuff also did this but it certainly did not have as much of a reflection as this stuff, and the energy would still get absorbed into the panes of glass as the energy kept passing through the glass. Physically, this stuff works. *Some* of it has started peeling a bit at the bottom of the windows but the windows were atrociously dirty and although I tried my best to clean them, there seemed to be enough debris to allow it to lift a little. No worries, the other parts still have enough of a strong adhesive that it is still sticking so far. I live in very windy Rhode Island too, near the coast! I have already invested in 3 rolls of the 36"x14'. I just keep coming back for more when I come home to a warmer house, knowing that I could further cool it off from the summer rays.A few points before you jump in on this. It is difficult to apply, especially to large windows. I pretty much became a professional after doing it so much with several rolls even from different companies. Just clean the window thoroughly. I use car care products and even used some of my clay bars meant for my car on the windows before putting the film on to try to make sure it was really clean. Use tons and tons of soapy water too, spray it everywhere as you slowly peel the clear plastic off the film. Another note is this stuff has dropped the temperature by maybe 3-5 degrees at most. I ONLY have it on my west windows since that was the problem area for me and I think I could get a further drop if I did it on my east windows. Your results will obviously vary depending on window size and where your problem areas are. Don't expect this stuff to replace air conditioning.

Wow, worked better than expected, no distortion in the view
I've used the interior films on skylights and windows, but have always been a little disappointed at the distortion when looking outside. I used this on half a dozen west facing windows to cut down on some of the afternoon brightness and heat and was happier than expected with the results. inside is bright, but not harsh, and no distortion when looking outside. Amazing. From the outside, now my windows all look uniform whether different color curtains are open or closed, and it masks the cloudiness from a broken window seal on one of the windows. I wish I had done this sooner. All the hints others have written about were helpful. I found it easier to cut the window pieces to (almost) exact size rather than using a larger piece and cutting them to size when on the window, but I had all the equipment to make that part easy. I hope this lasts several years.

It's important to manage expectations
My house in Fort Lauderdale, FL has an east/west exposure. Thermal blinds were not cutting it so I tried using this film on hurricane impact glass that routinely heats up to 120 F. I installed the film on one panel of glass and compared the heat rejection to the pane of glass without the film installed. The glass with the film read 110 F and the glass without the film read 120 F with in IR thermometer. Later in the day when the sun shifted the glass with the film read 93 F and the glass without the film read 97. The film does block some... some... heat. But it was not enough to justify the cost. I ended up returning the unused film and purchased fabric sails to block the sun from hitting the glass. That brought the temperature down to ambient outside temperature at a cost comparable to the film.
