Not Bad Boss Romance
This was a not bad boss romance, but it also wasn’t a stunner. There wasn’t anything really outstanding in this that made it super romantic or super sexy.I think dog lovers could relate and also people who have been cheated on, and the way the break ups went. Otherwise it wasn’t badly done, just not five star material.

4.5 star office romance
In Too Deep by Julie Olivia is a new fun and sexy office romance. A story filled with late work nights, lovable pups, amusing sock choices, and sarcastic banter.Grace Holmes has hands down the best last name in history, but no worries there's just the right amount of Sherlock jokes without it being overdone. She was sarcastic and strong willed and no one was safe from her snark, even her boss. Cameron was sweet, charismatic and a little frustrating at times. He seemed to be trying to have his cake and eat it too when it came to his interactions with Grace. In Too Deep is a slow burn romance but I didn't mind because they have a lot of fun interactions with their dogs and their friends. Holy Moly, when they do finally give into their desires it's explosive and fit their personalities perfectly. It was feisty and sexy and hot as hell!In Too Deep may be my first Julie Olivia read but it will not be my last. I will be keeping a close eye out for the next book in this series!

3.5 Stars
3.5 StarsIt took a good chunk of the book for me to become invested in the characters. I wasn't sure if I really liked either of them to be honest. But the author's writing kept me interested enough until I finally felt the chemistry between Cameron and Grace.

Good twist on boinking the boss
Enjoyed the story but I could have done without the erotica and F bombs. The book needed better editing; 'I think a see a smile tug at the edge of her lips', just an example of many. Lost a star due to that distraction.

Nice story. I liked the characters and especially the dogs. It had a great ending also. Describing it as a slow burn was right on the money with extra slooowww. You could have skipped 4-5 chapters and got to the same point without missing anything.

Love CAN be cute while also being steamy as frick
Listen. This story was absolutely cuter than I could’ve imagined and I loved ever second of it. I found myself laughing and grinning at both Grace and Cameron’s inert monologue and just the way their relationship developed. It’s the kind of story that gives you all those good time feels while also making you sweat when things get steamy and boy do they. We love a woman who can speak her mind and a man who can take he sass worth the biggest grin. OH, and there’s dogs - two of them! Grace and Cameron are definitely the epitome of friends to lovers and I loved seeing their story play out. It was fun, it was sweet, there were laughs and definitely me laying my phone down and fanning myself when spicy time happened. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants something that just makes you feel good, that makes you feel happy.

Enjoyable
It's a good premise and it plays out well. However, I do feel some story elements went unresolved. It doesn't sit well with me that Grace chooses to ignore the fact she co-owns a property with her ex. Cameron describes Grace as a 'firecracker', and even though Grace is empowered after her breakup with Joe, to not settle and put herself first, that version of her just doesn't tally up with the 'head in the sand' version. I'd say Cameron has more self awareness and growth, which is fine, but I would have preferred those things to be more equal. It's not my favourite Julie Olivia story but it's still enjoyable.

Ironically, In Too Deep is far too shallow...
I'm about 80% sure I am about to DNF this book at 58%, it is just not for me. I dislike the writing style, first-person present-tense, with endless thought monologues and random switching perspectives. UGH. Tell me a story! Make me fall in love with the hero/heroine!Unfortunately, the storyline is basically non-existent and so dreadfully dull that I literally don't care what happens next. I don't want to read every whiffle-waffling thought that crosses a character's mind. There are tiny, brief moments that I liked interspersed with drab, dragging, repetitive thoughts... s/he's soo cocky, s/he's so attractive, s/he's my boss/employee - we can't cross that line - ad nauseum. The characters are little more that gorgeous pieces of cardboard - I'm not even a dog person and I found myself more interested in what the dogs were up to than the humans, they were so utterly forgettable.I hate to give up more than halfway in, but I am not enjoying myself and have started/finished two or three books since beginning this one. If that isn't a sign to quit while I'm ahead I don't know what is!
