Extremely strong! Be careful
The media could not be loaded. This is really cool, but the magnet is REALLY STRONG. It is probably not great for kids. We have two and my kids put them close by to each other. They weren’t even that close and they slammed together and would not separate. They slammed so hard that one magnet chipped off a chunk and smaller pieces! Although it was cool, we realized they probably shouldn’t have free access to these with the damage they could cause.

Very strong magnets
We wanted to hang a felt toy on the fridge for the two year old grandson so needed a magnet strong enough to hold felt and that he could not remove or swallow. These were perfect. They're actually too big (about 1 1/2 inches wide and about 3/4 inch tall) but the 1/4 inch tall magnet did not seem like it would be strong enough. When I put the magnet on the fridge it jumped out of my hand. I was glad it did not pinch my finger. I could not pull it straight off the metal with one hand- I had to peel off one side of the magnet and then it came all the way off. I did a non-scientific test and it held 15 pounds but that was with the strap of the bag between the magnet and the metal. Without the strap in between the magnet would hold better. You don't want little kids playing with these. The two year old might be able to slide the magnet around a little but he won't be able to remove it.

The Earth and the Moon Collided ... Catastrophically
So, I would say that they are strong! I tried to put them together to see HOW strong they were, and when they got within inches of each other, it was like the Earth pulled the Moon out of its orbit. The collision was very exciting. There was a huge spark (of fire) and a loud "breaking" noise - if that makes sense - as the two (2) magnets attracted each other abruptly. And when they connected, chunks of debris from each magnet went everywhere. Of course, I used the bigger chunks to find the smaller chunks. So, no fault of Amazon or manufacturer. Just dumb luck I guess. Never got to use them. However ...The magnets themselves are meaty (heavy, solid). They come individually in separate boxes, surrounded by about an inch of molded, polyethylene (I believe) padding; unblemished. The first thing I tried to test them with was my laser engraver bed, which, turned out to be aluminum, and didn't work. Hence, the two-magnet-attraction test. I do believe they would have worked well for my application if I'd had the change to use them.Lesson learned. By one (1), or keep two (2) or more very separated.Good luck!

Cool Magnet But Not For What I Needed
So this magnet is cool and I had a lot of fun sticking it to things and trying to pull it off. I suppose it could be dangerous because it is reasonably strong, as other reviewers have noted, but I am not made of metal and I didn't shatter it so I didn't have a problem. I did have it in my pocket and a screwdriver flew off a table, but, because it stuck to my leg and not in my leg, I found it funny. However, I bought it to remove a security tag that was left on a shirt my wife bought me for Christmas, and, whether based on user or mechanical error, it did not work. I messed with it for about an hour and could not get it to budge. Ultimately, I gave up using the magnet and put it away for the next time I want to send screwdrivers flying or wipe out people's phones. As for the tag, I had been trying for two months to get the thing off with no success so I decided to beat it to smithereens with a heavy mallet. Worked like a charm. So, if you want a fun magnet that takes two hands to pull off things, hey, go with this. It is magnetic and pretty strong, as it says. If you want to remove a security tag, though, maybe look for a nice heavy mallet instead.

Strong A/F
If you have a pacemaker I would beware. No joke. There is a piece of plastic in between the two magnets when they arrive and I’m thankful I didn’t have to separate them. Not a toy. They worked perfectly for what I wanted them for.
