50 More Easy to Color Mandalas in Volume 2 of the Gentle Mood Menders series – designs printed on one side of the page
The media could not be loaded. This is my second coloring book in the Gentle Mood Menders series by Angie Grace. I also own one of her more intricate design series books, “Breathe” which is part of the Extreme Stress Menders series. As with “Balance”, the first volume in the Gentle series, “Centered” is a re-working of one of her popular “Centered” book in the Extreme Stress Menders series. The big difference between the two “Centered” books is that this book has been made easier to color. The original book was very intricate and large where this one focuses on the central portion of the design. It still fits on the same size page as the original book but with less detail. Because it is less intricate, it means the designs are more open and that you can use larger coloring mediums to work with. I still find the mandalas nicely detailed and that I am having a lot of fun with the easier to color style. In addition to larger tipped medium, I think it is also a book that can be used by individuals who could not color in the original book due to fine motor or visual issues. While I can't compare it to the original book as I don't own it, I did compare it to “Breathe”. I find that coloring in this book is a lot of fun and that the projects went by quickly for me without having to work in small detailed areas with tiny nib pens. I will admit that I used both fine and ultra-fine markers to do these designs but that was only for convenience sake and because I own both size markers in the same colors. This is what I experienced while coloring in and testing my coloring mediums with this book. In the comments section below I will list the coloring mediums I used to test the paper in this book and which I usually use for my coloring projects.50 Circular style Mandalas with wider lines and more open space than most mandalasPrinted on one side of the pagePaper is thin, white, slightly rough, and non-perforatedGlue Binding with plenty of space to cut out design if you choose to do so.Designs stop well before the binding areaAlcohol and water-based markers seep through this paper to varying degrees. Alcohol-based seep through quickly while water-based are actually more spotty.Gel pens and India ink pens leave colorful shadows on the back of the page. India ink pens can seep through in spots if multiple layers are applied.Colored pencils work well with this paper. Using both oil and wax-based pencils, I got good pigment coverage, could layer the same and multiple colors, and could blend easily using a pencil style blending stick. Hard lead pencils leave dents through to the back of the page.I recommend the use of a blotter page for under your working page. That way you can keep seeping inks and marring dents from damaging the design below. I use either card stock or several sheets of heavyweight paper.

Another favorite by Angie Grace!
Angie delivers another fantastic book! This and Balance for Crayons and Wide Tipped Markers are my absolute favorites from the Angie Grace collection. I have quite a few of her books and highly recommend any of them - there are enough different ones to find something for any style.Pros:- Beautiful designs with enough detail to be interesting yet wide enough spaces to accommodate those who don't like intricate coloring.- Companion book to the original Centered from the Stress Menders series, making it fun to do companion pages together.- Varied circular patterns in all sorts of "flavors". As you're coloring, you'll find different aspects of the design popping out at you. Each page feels unique!- This paper works WONDERFUL with alcohol-based markers. It is thin enough to allow the marker to bleed just a bit, which helps them color smooth without ugly overlap lines as you color.- Enough space around the edges to cut the pages out, photo copy them (for personal use), or take it and get it spiral bound. I've had all of my Angie Grace books spiral bound at UPS and still have plenty of white margin left on the spiral side! (Unlike other books where the spiral almost always cuts into designs.)Cons:- The paper is fairly thin. While this is great for alcohol markers, it does not work well with watercolor media! It is also difficult to add many layers of colored pencil, though colored pencil can work. I copy onto cardstock whenever I'm wanting to use watercolor/Inktense pencils and sometimes for colored pencils as well.- There really are no other cons...this book has a great price, great designs, and is so relaxing to color in!

Love it.
I have almost all the books in this particular series (so you'll see this review repeated for the other books). The lines are are little bolder and the spaces are a little bigger than some of the other books from this author. I believe they are a close up of some of her other books. The size of the images are just right to me. Not too big and not too detailed. The book itself is a smaller format that is just the right size. The images are single sided and not perforated on trade stock paper.

Not good paper for markers
Book is for coloring with markers, but even with light strokes, the paper turns into little pieces of pulp.

Great for markers and lots of pages!
I love this book. I use markers because I have carpel tunnel syndrome and can't handle the more detailed coloring anymore. These books are perfect! Lots of pages and every single one is interesting to color.

Another great book
Single sided designs on paper of a nice thickness. Permanent markers will bleed through but a single sheet of scrap paper is enough to protect the next page in the book. The size of the book makes it easy to use in your lap without a table needed. I am a big fan of these books specifically designed for large tipped markers and crayons.

Great
This book will be done in colored pencils even though it accomodates crayons/markers. The extra space allows for some extra personalization &/or shading.
