You'll never go back to another oil again/Add On
AniMed Rice Bran Oil 128 oz Love this oil for baking, frying...everything...It's food grade and cheaper in the pets dept....they feed it to horses to make their coats shiny as well as their diet...but make sure when you buy it...it is 100% Rice Bran....some makers add something in for the horses...This is my preferred oil, and I really enjoy this blend! It has no distinct flavor and an extremely high smoke point which makes it perfect in most applications!I have been buying this brand of rice bran oil for over a year, and even though it has increased in price quite a bit, it truly is the only one I am comfortable with using on humans, namely myself and my husband. After a cancer diagnosis with mets, along with an expiration date (shyeah they can't get rid of me that easy) in 2005, I kept on with my healthy lifestyle but knew I could still improve it. I've painstakingly over the years have gone through items I was using and changed what was necessary. It was a long list, and it continues. I finally got to our oils, and we are good with our olive oil, but I really wanted something I could use for more than just one or to things, and rice bran oil was the answer. It infuses very well with both hot and cold extractions. I typically will do an extraction over time, low and slow along with no heat. This oil has such a high absorption rate, it's almost like a tincture when I'm done. Everything that is put into that oil for an extraction, is extracted completely. I store this infused oil in a mason jar and add it to breads etc.. depending on the infusion. The part for me that makes it my go to oil, is it is universal. This is typically fed to horses for a shiny coat, well guess what, it'll give you a shiny head of hair too! It is an all purpose cooking oil, I would not use this as a dipping oil, unless is was an infusion. The oil itself to me has little to no taste. I've read others say they don't like the taste but I'm not getting that, and I am taste and smell sensitive to the point of obnoxious. Also, I was always under the impression peanut oil had the highest smoke point. My husband likes to deep fry, and once in awhile when he makes Rhode Island Hot and Greasy Calamari, using Jasper White's recipe (totally worth buying the book just for that recipe), I am all in on that. He had used regular oil over the years, switched to peanut oil, but it just wasn't quite right and I could never put my finger on it. Then he started deep frying in rice bran oil and the difference was blatant. There was no weird taste like there is with peanut oil. It is a subtle taste in peanut oil, but as someone who is smell and taste sensitive, I can taste the difference. When I saw the increase in price I was a bit taken aback, so I looked around at some other brands. I could not find one that I was comfortable replacing this brand with, and I have been using this brand for quite some time, that we decided not to mess with something that isn't broken. We know how good this oil is. We there is no flavor and that I can use it so many ways and it's good for me! Even with such an increase, it is still cheaper than many vegetable oils by volume. We are loyal to this brand, and are always pleased with the results it gives! I've even used it in some homemade salves and lotions! AniMed Rice Bran Oil 128 oz

Super palatable and easy source of calories
My 27 year old quarter horse dropped a bunch of weight last year. This has been an easy product to use and is an easy source of cool calories. Put a nice shine on the horses too.

Expensive and delivery took a long time.
Giving this to senior mare and gelding. Keeps coats shiny and good for nutrition. They like taste added to their grain. A bit expensive....

Great Weight Builder
My OTTB mare had lost some weight, (if we get a cool night or day & she is completely shed out, she tends to 'shiver' off some of her weight) & my vet recommended trying this rather than upping her hay intake. I live in a small town, & couldn't find it locally anywhere, so LOVE that it is offered on Amazon Prime. Within 10 days, she is gaining weight & filling in. Her coat is shiny (it was before as well) and she eats it no problem. I use it as a top dressing on her pellets. My vet recommended working her up to a cup a day. I will probably bump her back down to 1/2 cup in another week or so. Saw results very fast. It has not made her 'hot'.

Great Rice Bran Oil
My regular bottled rice bran oil was discontinued on Amazon, and I use it quite a lot, so I thought I would try this. It is great. Although it is manufactured for horses as stated on the label, it is perfect for people, and very reasonably priced.Although olive oil is wonderful, it should not be heated because that breaks it down. Rice Bran Oil is the healthiest oil for high heat cookingI am very happy with this oil.
