This is perfect for coin examining. It has just right magnifications and the lenses produce clear images. The lights are bright and are recharged via USB. It can be used in the hand or standing on it's own. I'm sure that it would be great for reading for someone with bad eyes also, but I bought it for coin collecting and I love it.

This magnifying glass really changed my husbands and my life. We both are seniors and when you get our age your eye sight is not so good in dim light even with glasses on. So many times we have had a very hard time doing things because we could not see the details or had a very hard time reading some labels that has that fine print. Our home doesn't have the best lighting in it either. But I tell you what, this little gadget has been the best purchase I have made in a very long time. The light is so bright that I have used it when our lights go out instead of our flashlights because the light it projects covers a larger area. Also, because it uses AA batteries and I always have plenty of those around unlike the D or C batteries that our flashlights take. Thank you for making such a wonderful product! We can do so many things we couldn't do before! Love, Love, Love it!Note: There is a thin sheet of plastic that covers both sides of the lens. It is there to protect it from scratches during the shipping process. You need to remove this once you begin to use it. I saw a few complaints about the clarity of the lens and if they were unaware of this plastic coating having to be removed I could understand it. It is very thin so can be missed.

This is exactly what I've needed for a while. I have an old hand-held magnifier that I've used for years, which is fine for most purposes requiring a magnifier. But there were times when I needed two hands for a job plus a third hand to hold the magnifier, so being endowed with only two hands made the job awkward. I'd either have to find something (or someone) to hold the magnifier, or just forego the magnifier. This magnifier solves that problem beautifully, and without needing to grow an extra hand.One thing to note, there was a mix-up with my order, but the seller promptly corrected the problem and compensated me for the inconvenience. Excellent customer service. I would certainly buy from this responsive seller again.

This magnifier has a carefully thought out and excellent design. The build quality also appears to be good so it should be durable. I don't use it very often, but when I do, it is really functional. I suppose how well it will work for you depends on what you use it for. It is good for many applications because of the flexible design - so it does the tasks of magnifying reading material, fine print, installing batteries in small wrist watches etc. It is just a good took to have around. If you really have vision problems and need a magnifier for everyday use, I think this will still do the job.

Got this as a gift for a friend that is getting up in age when you start to lose close focus ability. She needed something to "do her nails" with and this fits the bill perfectly! She loves it. The size is perfect for her needs and the battery operated illumination fills the view with perfect light. It's small enough to pack into your bag but big enough to actually work. I bought this with a desk version so she could have the best of both worlds while doing her nails to perfection!

I wanted a lighted magnifying glass for intricate sewing and jewelry repair. I needed it to be compact, foldable and lightweight so I could easily take it from room-to-room and travel. I needed the LED lights to be bright with the ability to plug in and battery operated too. This lighted magnifying glass does this and more! Also very impressed with the quality and durability of this product! I would highly recommend this product to others.

I purchased this magnifying glass for reading dates on coins for my coin collection. It works just perfect for this purpose. The flexibility in adjusting it at different angles is very beneficial. It is very bright. Now that I have it, I imagine I will be using it often for other situations, as well. My Mother saw it and requested one for reading her mail and paying bills, so I bought her one, too! She is 90 yrs old and has difficulties with her sight. This works so much better for her than the hand held magnifying glass she was using. The illumination this magnifying glass provides makes a huge difference for her, and it is also very stable on her desk and easy for her to adjust.

I love this thing. I have a larger, plug-in magnifier, but this uses batteries so you have no cord to juggle. I also have a very small one with less magnification. I wanted a larger one with higher magnification and strong built-in light that could be used hand-held or standing on its own, and this MagniPros is it. It’s an exceptionally well-designed object, fitting comfortably in my hand or unfolding to stand stable in a variety of angles that click firmly into place.. I like the 5x magnification and 11x porthole are higher than my other magnifiers. It is well lit and the dimmer of the 2 lights comes on first, so if it provides sufficient brightness, you don’t tend to waste batteries by first turning on the brighter light. In an era where bells and whistles often supersede function, it’s a real joy to find something designed so well that form contributes perfectly to functionality.

I am a Joiner and bought this specifically to help remove splinters from my fingers and it does the job perfectly. The light is really good as well. Would be better if the lens was slightly bigger in diameter but hey-ho it is perfect for close up work...love it.

Not bad, but not really what I needed. OK for many I would think. Good lighting. Bit of a hassle that it has a USB plug.
