Q: Will this lathe hold an Emu egg?

Yes it will hold a small to medium Emu egg. I do not have a large Emu to test.

Q: Will this work for quail eggs?

Yes, with small washers. We’re adding a new kit that includes a variety of washers. It will be available on Amazon in September. Stay tuned!

Q: Do you have to puncture and empty the egg to get the lathe to hold the egg properly? Could you use this to decorate intact eggs too? :)

The part that holds the egg in place is like a cushion, so it holds my blown out eggs just fine. I’m not really sure if it could handle the weight of a full egg though
