Perfect replacement battery

I gave it one star because it’s definitely a battery, but…..Once I’d cut wires and reconnected the speaker on my Garmin 820 to the new battery, I found that the connector to attach it to the mother board didn’t clip in. A waste of time.To be honest, having had a good few years of service from my Garmin I should have retired it with dignity into the bottom draw, and pulled the trigger on a new unit.It is possible to replace the battery on the 820, but yes it’s fiddly, and if you do achieve it, you’ll be left wondering how long it’s going to be before either water gets into the unit or whether it’s going to fall apart or stop working if you fart too close to it.Come on rider. You deserve a new head unit!

Delighted with this product and with the enclosed tools which made the battery replacement straightforward

When you try to fit it, it turns out you need a glue gun or sodering iron as well as a wire stripper. And the sizes are so small I could not fit the ribbon back into the port, so the Garmin is ruined. There should be a warning that this is not straightforward - the previous one I bought for the 705 was a doddle. Also, the unit will have lost it's waterproofing by the screen being prized off.Terrible.

I bought this item and replace my battery that wasn’t lasting long. This new battery only lasts 5hrs max, I have tried recharging fully and still it’s dead after 5hrs, this is no good for 100mile+ rides and should last much longer. Spend more and buy an official Garmin battery.

Almost impossible to fit as wires far too small and fiddly. When fitted did not work! Started return process and followed all instructions. Still awaiting refund after 4 weeks

The battery fits perfectly inside the Edge 520 Plus,Capacity is lowered than the original, therefore your battery level indicator will hover around 90% when fully chargedTake caution when opening and re-closing the device (might have to use super glue and permanently seal the device after the battery replacement)In my case the device was already 4 year old so I didn’t mind the permanent seal

Purtroppo per una procedura di sostituzione ostica(per le mie capacità) ho danneggiato il dispositivo Garmin che alla riaccensione con la batteria sostituita non era più utilizzabile.Schermo che presentava strisce oblique azzurrine e touch non più reattivo.Se avete il modello in foto(Edge 820) e non siete dei veri smanettoni in sostituzioni batterie pensateci bene.

Der Akkuwechsel meines Edge 520 hat geklappt, ist aber eine wirklich fieselige Sache, weil die Teile so klein sind. Von den 17 Werkzeugteilen braucht man nur drei. Es fehlt aber auch Werkzeug, das benötigt wird, zum Abisolieren und Verbinden der Lautsprecherkabel.Vor dem Zusammenbau haben die Lautsprecher funktioniert, danach leider nicht mehr.Das Display hatte nach dem Zusammenbau keinen Halt mehr im Rahmen, ich musste es einkleben.Ein weiterer Wechsel wird also nicht möglich sein.Der neue Akku liefert jetzt >10 Stunden Laufzeit, also hat sich das Ganze trotzdem gelohnt. Bin mal gespannt, wie lange der hält.

Destinata a sostituire la batteria originale del Garmin Edge 520 con ormai 5 anni di vita alle spalle, ed autonomia ridotta intorno alle 6 ore. L'ho fatta sostituire ad un amico che si diletta nella sostituzione di schermi per smartphone e in 1 ora ha fatto tutto. Ora il Garmin regge tranquillamente 9 ore di uscita (ma la batteria ha una capacità leggermente inferiore a quella originale). Se avete problemi di autonomia con la vecchia batteria, il gioco vale la candela.
