Just WOW!
This book is brilliant and told with a great deal of heart felt honesty. Bryony is so brave to bear her soul to the world. This book resonated with my own personal journey in pretty much every way. I have been alcohol free for 2 years and sought solace mainly from online groups, friends and books. I haven't experienced rehab so I learned a great deal from Bryony's sessions with Peter. There were some real light bulb moments for me and this is powerful reassurance that I am not alone and that everything I am experiencing is normal and part of the process. Can't rate it enough for anyone that is doubting their relationship with alcohol or experiencing its interference and negative effects on a regular basis. And if you're like me, continuing to do the work and seeking like mind people. Bryony is an inspiration and this book will stay with me forever.

Honest, raw and real...
Got recommended this book by the FB Alcohol Explained group ( book by William Porter. Changed my life). An excellent read. Sometimes hard to though. A different way to Sobriety than for many of us however none the less challenging.

An emotionally moving story
An eye opener to those who didn’t realise what alcoholism can do to some people no matter who they are or what they already have.An excellent read that I couldn’t put down.Whilst I understand and sympathise with some of her views on the MH service I know that a lot of people are doing the best they can in the circumstances, and unfortunately there isn’t a bottomless pit of money and resources.

Glorious Indeed
This is a sometimes brutally raw and other times poetically beautiful insight into Gordon’s experience of addiction. She does not hold back on some of those uncomfortable truths and dark moments. But the best thing of all about this book is it’s not all doom and gloom. Even in the darkest moments, there is light.

Can't put down!!
As a fellow alcoholic/addict in recovery this book was always going to mean something to me. This is special, it's brutally honest, a feat to the author Bryony Gordon, as she will know, being honest when in active addiction is the last thing you are!A triumph to you!!!!The fact she includes the impact on her family makes it significant for me too.Because although sober, now for a number of years, I had stopped drinking way before my 1st child, but I still dabbled in recreational drugs during her formative years (not proud) & I am still dogged by mental illness and probably on reflection, trauma and ptsd caused by my years of drugging and drinking, included a traumatic brain injury after falling down stairs high on pills and alcohol. So yes it does have an impact on my child and husband.Bryony thank you for your courage, for not feeling so crazy for all those crazy things and your honest an amazing writing!
