Pretty stable - Great for the price
This camera stand is very sturdy and stable. It works well for mounting a camera overhead for product or macro shooting. It FIRMLY holds a 3lb camera/lens combo and I don't doubt the 5lb rating, even though the ball head that ships with the product is pretty chintzy. The product has a few quirks, but still works very well. The locking nut at one elbow is a different size than the other two, and the product came with allen keys of the right size for the two, but not for the third. The ring that attaches the lateral arm to the vertical pole is not robust. I could not get it tight enough no matter what tool I used. Consequently, the lateral arm tends to slide downward slightly when the arm is being adjusted. However, it stays put once it is in place. The table mounting bracket is very sturdy and the vertical pole is strong enough to hold additional arms attached with superclamps. Plan on replacing the ball head with a cheap all-metal head or a tripod head you already have. Almost anything will be better than the head that ships with the product. Nonetheless, for the price, this is an excellent overhead mount solution. It is totally functional and well worth what I spent on it.

Heavy
Very Heavy than expected. It is stable, reducing camera shake during top-down photography. It is adjustable height and length, along with a 360° ball head. I bought this because its flexible arm allows for easy adjustments, making it suitable for different devices like ring lights, video cameras, and webcams. TCons: The rig is very bulky, taking up significant desk space, which might be an issue for smaller workspaces. Another issue is there are no clear instructions. I wish they put a clear instruction label. Despite its flexibility, I also think the arm is a bit stiff, making fine adjustments harder.

Very sturdy. Exactly what I needed for my YouTube art videos.
The media could not be loaded. I bought this camera stand for making top-down art instruction/process videos for my YouTube channel. First impressions were that the box was very heavy. The components are solidly constructed and easy to assemble. I'd say it took 5-10 minutes. The stand is very sturdy and versatile. The included ball-joint camera mount is perfect for pointing my little video camera down at the working surface of my art table. It stays tight and I've never had a problem with it sagging due to gravity. An artist friend of mine enjoys the videos I make and asked me what my setup looks like, so I shot the short video to walk her through how I do it. Figured some of you might also enjoy it.

Extremely well made
The stand is even better than I'd hoped. Very sturdy, and it looks good too. It would be helpful if there were instructions on assembly, since I did two things incorrectly and had to struggle to get it apart to redo it. Instructions would have been nice. They only had a list of parts. Not difficult to assemble, but some hints on the best approach would have helped. But now that it is together, it works great, and I am very pleased with the product.Sturdier packaging would have been nice. The box was completely open on one end when it arrived, but luckily nothing was missing.

Clunky set up, not all pieces fit
I’ve never had so much trouble putting together a desk arm/camera mount. Other people seem to be find so maybe i just got a bad unit or something. For starters, the rotating camera mount does not sit tightly flush with the screw attaching it too the arm so the piece is completely unusable lest the camera is left wobbling around, and the screws for tightening the arm mount onto the main pole was stuck for me to such an extreme that i could not loosen it in order to slide the arm to the desired position on the pole, heck i couldn’t even get the darn thing on the pole. It was so bad that after trying -and failing- countless times to get it loose, the screw indents became flattened smooth from the force, and the Allen Key no longer had anything to grip on, making the entire thing a heap of scrap. This whole process was an unmitigated nightmare. I’ve mounted countless monitors/mics/cameras on a myriad of other arms and have never been so frustrated.

Overall good product, but with some flaws.
I really like the sturdiness and solid construction of this stand. Personally I don't need to constantly adjust the position, so the lack of adjustment knobs does not bother me. However, if someone does need to frequently adjust positions, I can see how this would be an issue. My main complaints are with the attachments. The ball mount attachment did not want to lock in place well, no matter how I adjusted the tightening knobs and set screw. Although it was adequate to hold my small dlsr camera, it was easy to get out of position, and I get the feeling that a larger camera would have issues with stability. The phone attachment has a very strong spring, and is awkward to open and place the phone in. If placing the phone in from the top, it does seat fairly well and holds it's position. However, if you place the attachment facing down, and bring the phone up into it that way, the slanted sidewalls of the holder allow for significant movement while in the holder. It takes a while to adjust the phone inside the holder to get it to hold it's position.None of these are dealbreaking flaws for my application, and I am satisfied with the purchase. Take these issues into consideration when making your purchase decision. It is a very solid stand that will be adequate for many applications. I would feel more fair giving it 3.5 stars. Also keep in mind that I am very critical in my assessment of any product.

Great products
The arm is long enough to stretch away from the edge of the table. It would not be a bad idea to make the vertical arm higher than it is now. You will need to get the mount for your camera or phone to screw it on top of this frame, it doesn’t come with any of those.Previously I bought something similar but this is much better. Previous product had shorter ‘hand’ and everything had to be done closer to the edge of the table, that sucks, especially if you’re making a cooking video, you need more space to make sure that the frame doesn’t show in the video. This one makes sure that this doesn’t happen.
