all I wanted to do was restring a broken necklace
Good heavens there is a lot to know! I decided that the beads were too nice to thread onto dental floss and set about on a several week ordeal of ordering the wrong stuff and need for other stuff. This wire is appears to be ultra strong and the right size to go through the hole of my beads. According to my SIL regarding wire; the bigger the number the thinner the wire, it took me a while to figure that out. You can't tie this stuff; you'll need crimping beads or crimping tubes. I opted for the assorted pack so I had all bases covered and glad I did; this wire take a #2 or #3. You'll also need crimping pliers (I couldn't get it with the needle nose pliers) and proper findings if, like me, you can't find the original clasp. Then you'll need one of those magnifying lamps (this is a really good one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000X7AHEY/ref=oh_details_o07_s01_i02) because in your zeal in saving this one necklace you will have forgotten that you can't see anything anymore because you have old tired eyes and this is a project better suited to a young relative or the give away bag. I'm into this five dollar necklace about $75 dollars so far....

Strong as an Ox!
I got this wire because the 8-strand wire I was using broke a few times, destroying my creations. This way, I feel much more confident that my piece won't go to pieces, so to speak. So far, so good. It's super strong and thick. I'm very happy with it. Worth the extra money for peace of mind.
