Small Pellet Basket, Heating Source Using Wood Pellets in Your Wood Stove or Fireplace

The media could not be loaded. I had read the other reviews about this product and most of them were negative. They said that the fire would not light or would not stay lit, or that the pellets didn’t burn down all the way.I didn’t find any of that to be true. Actually quite the opposite. When using quality fry pellets and a small piece of fire stater, the pellets caught as expected and when the basket is full, it burns for about two and a half hours. The pellets burn down to ash and there are a lot less than when using wood.I have an antique parlor stove with a small firebox so I ordered the small basket and it fit perfectly, with a nice gap at the two ends and at the back.My stove also has a very good draft so no need for a fan.The basket is made from welded steel and should last for quite a few years with regular use.I like less ash, less smoke and less mess in my house.I am very pleased with my purchase.

Didn't give off as much heat as we would of liked. It is very heavy duty so the product itself is very nice. Just going to use wood in our stove. In a pinch it works fine.

I have a soapstone woodstove. I bought the pellet basket as an alternative to cordwood. So far we have been rather unsuccessful at producing much more than a smoldering fire. If we put a very thin layer of pellets we can get it burning but the fire never gets very hot and we have to feed more pellets in every 20 minutes or so. We tried using the gel fire starter, piling the pellets in different configurations, opening the drafts, the doors, the flue, pointing a fan at the fire. The pellets are hardwood so I expected a slow burning hot fire. They work great in my pellet stove, but not so great in my woodstove. I would not recommend this product.

It works well if you use a fire starter underneath it and use igniting gel in layers. It burns for a few hours using this method. It works for what I wanted it for.

Extremely rugged build quality. I used it daily in my woodstove all Winter and it's still in great shape. I was able to use it to heat the house with pellets without having to refill it more than every couple of hours. It takes time to get a technique going but it's a great solution.

Like other reviewers have stated, you cannot fill this up and get even soft pellets to burn. I used liquid gel firestarter and that burns them it goes out and the pellets just smolder… very disappointed

If you run short of wood can use this for day or two. Does not hold more than about 45 minutes worth of wood pellets. Well constructed and heavy
