Works Perfectly out of the Box - Make sure to enable VR
I have a 2007 Wrangler with an RER (navigation enabled) MyGig. When the Wrangler first came out Jeep didn't know where to put the microphone so they left the radios with U-Connect disabled for that model year. By 2009 or 2010 they figured out where to put the microphones (they're now installed on a trim quarter panel connecting the A-Pillar trim to the over-windshield trim), and when I asked the dealership what it would take to have U-Connect enabled on my machine they quoted me something over $400 (as some of the other reviewers mentioned). When looking into getting a lock pick for my radio, I spoke with an engineer from that company and he told me that as far as he knew, all RERs have the Bluetooth and voice recognition functionality installed, however the feature is disabled without a microphone attached, so when I saw this kit at this price I figured that even if it didn't work I wouldn't be sinking a large amount of cash into the modification vs. paying a dealer an exorbitant amount for a simple wiring install. Long story short the engineer was right and after about an hour of disconnecting the vehicle battery, opening up panels, running some very simple wiring, connecting the microphone to the back of the radio, finding a good spot to mount the mike (the instructions have location diagrams but I wanted to be sure the wire was completely hidden), and closing everything back up I was ready to go.I reconnected the car battery, fired up the radio, hit U-Connect, and got the dreaded "U-Connect not available" message, which brings me to the second part of the subject line. If this happens to you, do not dispair - this probably means your radio has Voice Recognition (VR) disabled from the factory due to the lack of a microphone (common on 2008-2009 Wranglers). All you will need to do is enter the engineering menu (hold Menu and Seek Up/Down simultaneously to get it to switch over). Go down four pages and you will see an entry that says something like "Enable JK VR/HFM." Tap that button and everything should work after that. Additionally, the engineering menu has some other nice features (screen calibration, satellite tests, and so on) - read up on them if you're at all curious but be careful not to tweak settings you don't understand.Bottom line is the device works right out of the box for all navigation-enabled RER or better radios, and there's plenty of wire length to install it in the proper place in your vehicle. Regarding sound issues: you may need to play with the placement of the mike for optimal performance. I installed it along the seam where the windshield quarter trim panel and A-Pillar panel meet, with the wire running up and tucked away so that you cannot see it at all. Mine sounds perfect in the parking lot or on the freeway with the top up and you can hear a passenger very clearly as well - I haven't tried it yet with the top down but contributors to various Jeep fora state it works fine in open air. The instructions from Mopar give you placement suggestions for various vehicle types, but you can temporarily mount it first to be sure you won't get any reverberation while driving before settling on a final spot. I highly recommend this OEM product if you want to max out the functionality of this excellent radio.

It’s W for me
Hella easy to install LOVE how it has a long rope. But the mic is cheap, DONT GET ME WRONG, it has its moments where I forget I installed it myself but other moments the people on the other side are like “whaaat did you say?”. You get what you pay for. Wish the mic was better.

Fits in my Jeep
Worked perfectly. I have a 730 RER uConnect Radio in my Jeep. It was super simple to install and had plenty of cord in the even that you need it. If not, just wind it up and sick it under the dash. I used electrical tape to thicken parts of the cord in order to get it to stick in place without having to use glue. Don't have to even yell or anything. Picks up sound very well without being extra about it. Would recommend.

Works good
I think the whole set up is a bit dated compared to smart phones these days but this works. And it let's you pair up your phone via Bluetooth. I top the easy way out and just mounted the mic on top of the radio near the drivers side and that is working out fine for me. You will need a #7 driver to install. One of the bolts on my radio mount was really tight and I ended up buying a number 7 socket to get it stated. It really makes it easier process if you have the right tools from the start.now my voice recognition and uconnect buttons work.

Will not work on Challenger Rt with Uconnect.
I was told by the seller that this part would fit my 2014 challenger and should work no problem. My vehicle has U connect and would not work with my vehicle. Waste of time!!
