Goldie returns to Beautiful Downtown Burbank for a very wet "Sock-it-to-me" reunion after winning an Academy Award. Then Goldie as Sparkle Farkle rejoins Fannie and Fred and the Fabulous Farkle Family of Simon and Garfarkle, Artie and Smartie Farkle. Then "Laugh-In" salutes arch conservative William F Buckley, who debates the "Laugh-In" cast. Mr "Fah" Buckley gets to meet Ernestine Tomlin, the much feared, omnipotent telephone operator from Ma Bell. Later "Laugh-In" salutes women's liberation and presents a plan to de-escalate the Vietnam War. Finally, we look back at 1970 with cameos by Johnny Carson, Tim Conway, Rich Little and Carol Channing. And on this episode, Dick Martin does his now-famous Strip Tease. Suggested Parental Guidance, meaning, parents should leave the room. These two shows origianlly aired January 28, 1970 and September 28, 1970.

Two above average episodes
January, 1971? [listed as January, 1970 - the show is a look-back on the year 1970] -Guest: William F. Buckley.By far the funniest and most intelligent segment on the episode and on many others. Buckley's appearance is a question and answer format, revisited thee times, where the cast, out of character, except for Lily Tomlin as "Ernestine", addresses the Republican pundit. His responses appear to be ad-libs and most of them are hilarious! Seems his presence elevates the rest of the show, which is a notch above what one might expect.September, 1970 -Guest: Goldie Hawn.A good episode featuring the returning Oscar winner. The best bits are by Lilly Tomlin, who does her thing as the Telephone Operator, a stripper emcee, and a variety of characters. Some strong commentary/criticism on the Nixon Administration; on the the new, Women's Liberation Movement."The Party" is now known as "The Cocktail Party" has some intermittently amusing quips, but as usual, the dancers, in revealing costumes, are the focal point. It's 1970 and long before MTV would redefine the boundaries of such expression, but this '70 show wasn't too far removed from the MTV approach, in that department.Video/Audio Quality: Excellent.

As I remember
Arrive fairly quickly and not damaged in any way. I enjoyed watching the two shows on the type. I thought at the price, VHS over DVD, I was getting a great deal, didn't realize that it would only have the TWO shows on the type. All-in-all, still a nice purchase and will more than likely purchase at least one more.

I loved this show, but it is a shame this was not released with more shows on it. The disc was fine, no issues at all, shipping was fast, item was packaged perfectly

Great video
My niece had never seen Laugh-In, so I wanted her to see what all the censorship was about during that time period. It's a hoot watching it now, boy, we've come a long way!! I'd like to go back to the good ole days. Thanks for a trip backwards . . . it was fun.

Knowing your Letters is a great joy. One can do things . Like communicate !. But i'm not a good communicator. Maybe some day, I can reach some one like you. Enjoy the money you got from the junk I got. ART F.
