Legendary filmmakers Steven Spielberg and George Lucas combined talents to create Indiana Jones, the bullwhip-cracking archeologist assigned by the U.S. Government to find the mystically empowered Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis can obtain it for their own evil use. Indy (Harrison Ford) joins forces with Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) and the two catapult from episode to episode of breathtaking adventures.

So So
Great movie but I don't think it's right to have to rent a movie when I already pay for membership.

Very Nice Steelbook Release If You Can Get it Intact and If You Don't Mind the Colour Tint in the Picture!
As far as steelbook releases go this blu ray of what I believe to be the best of all the Indiana Jones movies ranks among the best ever produced. The raised detail on the front cover is very nice; unfortunately for me the packaging wasn't sufficiently sturdy to protect my copy mine has a big dent on the front that I can't remove. Otherwise this simple release with hardly any special features suits my needs to some extent as I only really wanted a superior quality release to replace my standard dvd copy. Unfortunately while the sound quality in DTS HD-MA clearly is a vast improvement over my dvd the picture quality is a mixed bag. For some reason the skies over Egypt are very grey here when compared with my dvd where it's very blue. There is however a major imperfection on the standard dvd in one scene with Belloche in the desert with a big black mark in the sky. This is vastly reduced but still a little present in the blu ray version; the price to pay though is a much less blue sky. Overall though the picture quality is an improvement over upscaled standard dvd.If you can get an intact version of this steelbook release and you are not bothered about special features and the strange colour tint in the picture than this is for you.

How's your Heart?
My family and I saw this movie many years ago. I bought the movie because of the happy memories we still share about it. It is a wonderful, action packed, edge of seat movie at the end of which I realized I had been holding my breath much of the time. There is a terrifying scene near the beginning in which helpers get pinned to the tunnel wall by razor sharp spears and "Indie" (the hero) is pursued down the tunnel by a bone crushing .... Well, you gotta see it if you have not already. Just be prepared for a severe test of your bladder control! I saw the movie when I was a lot younger. I saw it again when I bought it just recently. I am happy to report that, despite being much older, my bladder is still in good shape! The "ark" which Indie seeks is the ancient Ark of the Covenant in which the Hebrew people carried the two stone tablets on which the finger of God had written the Ten Commandments in the presence of Moses. The Ark has great powers and Nazi archaeologists want to seize it to defeat Germany's enemies. Indianna Jones saves the world!

were pretty freaked out
Although by todays standards the effects are sub par but for those of us who seen it as a kids I assure you we, were pretty freaked out. Everyone wanted to be Indiana Jones, with his whip, hat, dashing good looks, wit and ability to get out of every sticky situation, even after being caught! :O Its a great story line, lots of action, some romance and excellent one liners.
